Those are some great pics of some beautiful country! As for the scorpions I have never found a nest of them, but I did run into a "nest" of about 15 Coatimundi once! Kind of scary when one runs up your leg!!

Your 300 WSM is great coues medicine! That gun will put some deer on the ground. I like to use my 300 Ultra Mag. Its flat shooting and hard hitting. I hunt everything with that rifle. The only load I use in it is the 180gr Swift Scirocco.

Haha! Yeah we did spot that spike the monday before didnt we?....He had alot of mass for a spike! And he was fat too!

It was a good year. Saw 20-25 bucks in size from spikes all the way up to a 115 class buck. Out of 7 deer taken by our camp we only had one spike taken, it was a kids first deer and we were all proud of that spike!

Thanks bro, you got yourself a nice buck this year! I have hunted off that same spot for the last 7 years. If you promise to keep it a secret I will let you in on another good spot I hunt down there....

Sounds like everyone had a great time! Sorry we didnt make but it we had alot of deer on the ground that day and we were all tired out. Got to meet younghunter and his dad when they stopped by our camp, that was cool. Even ran into Azyoung while in Arivaca at the store. If im not mistaken I think younghunter and his dad were on the same hill me and my friends son killed our deer opening morning.

If I dont see the story posted soon I will make Casey do it. That was a great opening day this year! Glad I could put you in a good area where you shot that buck. I just got home and we have filled 7 out of 9 tags. Two guys are hunting the last day tomorrow so hopefully they will bag another one.

Son you are going to have a world of hurt brought down on your butt!!!!....lol If you want to talk about how many animals you have harvested then you must be making up for your lack of hunting skill and the huge amount of luck you have... How many moose have you taken?...........How many Caribou?...........How many bull Elk?..... How many deer?.........How many Antelope?..........How many Javelina?.............hmmmmmm I wonder... I seem to recall I have taken allo f theses animals over the years.......

Well im taking a break from getting my stuff loaded into the truck from the "staging area" on the couch!....lol Heading up to unit 8 to get me a Turkey! Then sunday im going scouting with Casey to show him how to glass for deer in 36B. (Pena Blanca Lake)....hehe. I sure hope he can keep up with those Leicas!..... Then I leave the 21st to set up camp for the October 36B deer hunt! Then in November I am guiding a good friend of mine on his bull Elk hunt in 3A/3C, its going to be a busy but fun time! Oh yeah I almost forgot I get to go chase deer with Casey again on his December hunt, in case anyone didnt notice, yes he does have a December tag!....HAHA! You should use which ever rifle you are most comfortable with. Either of those 2 calibers are great for deer. I personally choose to use my Rem. Mod. 700 In 300 ultra mag. Of all the rifles in my gun locker I shoot this one the best! I use 180gr Swift Sciroccos going about 3400fps.

You know Casey family does come before hunting for me. Besides, you said you have 36B all figureed out!......
