    Obama OH NO!!!!!!!

This is a sad day for the United States. His far left liberal ways along with his socialistic programs will bring this country down to its lowest levels in history. From now until 2012 we must start the fight to regain control of this great nation. I am a PROUD CONSERVATIVE and always will be! We are still a country of patriots and we will get through this. I only pray that we have our Constitutional liberties intact until then. God bless John McCain and Sarah Palin.
  3. Once again the October hunt started out with a bang for our camp this year! Arriving 3 days early this year to get some last minute scouting in, the bucks found on previous scouting trips were still in the usual areas. I myself had a nice 100" 3x3 picked out that had a blacktail, and my buddy Bob Copeland found a nice wide 3x3 he wanted. The deer were following their usual patterns in the days before the hunt and cofidence was high! Opening morning found us all hiking into our usual glassing spots and getting set up at 0430, long before any other camps were stirring. Once there was enough light for glassing the hu nt was on! I found a few small bucks but the larger bucks had not come around the hill yet. A few minutes later Bob calls me on the radio he has his buck spotted and the one I want is with it. I told him to shoot the one he wanted because i would not be able to make it over to his location fast enough, and wanted him to get his deer. About 10 seconds later his shot rang out and his buck was down! Bob and his 95" buck He called me once again to tell me my buck was still there and not moving so I took off in his direction. As I was getting there the buck went over the ridge. I was intent on this buck for the first 3 days of the hunt but was not able to locate him again. The afternoon played out the same, small bucks and does but no shooters. As I was getting ready to head to camp I get a call From our very own azcouesandelk, Christian said he was done in 36c and wondered if we needed any help so I told him to come on down! H e pulled into camp that night with a Moutain Dew in one hand and a can of Chef Boy R dee in the other, he was ready to hunt!.... Saturday morning started out slow but the action picked up when we spotted a 100" buck out in the flats. We radioed my other buddy Larry Miller as he was set up closer to the buck. Larry had a young hunter with him looking for his first deer. We watched the beast bed down and talked them in close, but alas the buck managed to slip away unseen into the mesquites. SAturday evening went much better I assure you! We went to a different location to do some more glassing. About 430 Bobs son Justin spotted a buck as it was about to bed down. We got the spotter on it and Christian estimated it to be abouy an 80" buck. The stalk was on! We ranged the buck at 443 yards from where we were So Justin and Christian bailed off the ridge trying to get closer. After about 30 minutes they headed back to our location. I asked Justin If he would like to shoot the buck from there and he said if he could he would. So I offered him my 300 Ultra Mag. Which he jumped at! We got him set up on the bi-pod and back packs for a rest which was dead solid. Turned the Swarovski scope up to 18 and he had a perfect view of the bedded buck. Now keep in mind Justin always uses his trusty .270 and has shot all his deer at or under 200 yards. He has never even fired my rifle until this day. His first shot was a hair low but the buck never moved. His second shot drilled the deer in his bed and rolled him right out of it! The coolest thing was watching the vapor trails as the bullets went streaking toward the buck! Needless to say the ridge was filled with high fives! Justin and his 82" buck Another view Christian also has more pics and a video of this buck he will post also. Although I didnt find another shooter buck and came home empty handed it was one of the best times I have had hunting!

    Remington .300 Ultra Mag

I have been shooting my 300 Ultra Mag since 2000 and I use the 180gr. Scirocco. My model 700 shoots half inch groups with the factory load. At one time we loaded up some 125gr Sierras with 96.5 grains of N165 powder and it also shot half inch groups and were screaming down range! But for all around performance I would say try the 180 Sciroccos. I will try to get a pic posted of the one I recovered from my Elk I shot at 522 yards. It retained almost all its weight with a perfect mushroom.
  9. One week to go and I am already useless at work and cant stop thinking about deer season! Heading out next tuesday to 36B! Good luck to everyone getting ready to start the season!

    Noon Siesta or

Hey Ernesto does this guy look familiar?....... This was last year in 36B!
  11. As I watched the debate earlier tonite I caught one of the comments by BHO as McCain was discussing constitutional rights. As they were talking about our God given rights guaranteed by our fore fathers, BHO stated, "I believe our constitutional rights should be decided again by popular vote"! Although they were speaking about the first amendment at the time, I interpreted this as a blanket statement by BHO on wanting to reevaluate what rights he thinks we should be allowed to have. Be afraid!.....and be Angry!

    Noon Siesta or

I take a noon siesta. but I usually just find a nice tree to lay under instead of going back to camp. That way I can stay in the field and start glassing once the nap is over.

  15. Happy Birthday!!!!!! Hope the day is a great one!
  16. We were up in units 7 & 8 this last weekend doing some Elk scouting and ran across these strange things in Unit 7. It turned out to be a cake pan on top of a pole cemented in the ground, screwed down with strapping and filled with marbles on a screen inside the pan. I can only assume it was to catch rain water?...any ideas?
  17. Wow! Mystery solved! Now we can jump back in the Mystery Machine and solve some more!.....Thanks Brent!
