Also there are over 50 designated wilderness areas in Arizona.

Try to find a water source central to the area u want to hunt.water is key.keep your backpak on and sleep where u end up that night.This may not be necessary but it is a great feeling to roll out of your sleeping bag miles in a know that you have the place all to yourself .

I had those same thoughts a couple years ago.I ended up with a SS. Tikka in .300wsm.It does kick in that caliber. I put a Kick ease pad on it and it helped. I used Talley lightweight rings and a light weight vortex scope.It shoots straight and is a great mountain rifle without spending alot of $. Sportsmans warehouse has their own version of the t3 with a fluted barrel that is even lighter. -

+1. Another wackem/ g5 striker fan over here. Forget mechanicals.Imo.they are inferior to a good fixed blade and will eventually let u down.
