  1. I have been lucky as well. I keep them in the desert units untill the middle of sept. about the time when its starting to cool off and more people are out tooling around the washes. After sept I put them around the farm, were they don't get messed with. I have a buddy that had 2 stolen in 42 last month. The guy left a picture of a and said "Thanks for the Cam"

I am having to check them every week, or my cards are full. I am getting about 3700 pics a week. About 300-500 of deer, and the rest are of quail, dove, hawks, vultures, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, and owls. It takes about 2 hours everytime i download cards to weed threw them all! I have been luckey so far and havn't had cattle on the cams and am in an area that is far enough off a beaten path that people arn't out stealing them. I think it also helps that its over 100 and they aren't out riding in the washes!

It could be the same one, but its about 10 miles from the one that we saw on the other end. I saw him yesterday morning with 4 other bucks in a field, he was the smallest of the bunch. I can't wait to get the others on the cam. I am going to pull it this afternoon and bring it with me incase I find some other spots that I want too place it this weekend. If I don't you bet its going right back were it was!

    my camera stolen too

That sucks! I think it's time to start poaching thiefs. I had two different guys looking at my cams, and they actually left it alone. I couldn't believe it!

    New Elk Rifle

I am trying to decide what to get, a 7mm or a 300WSM or maybe even something else. Any Ideas? I aready have a .30.06 which can do the job, but I am tired of that one and ready to try something new. What cal. do you prefer and why?

    New Elk Rifle

Great imput! I ended up buying the .300 WSM. Lots of time and reading and thats what I came up with. Now what shoud I put on top for optics? I have been puting burris 3.5-10-50s on my past few rifles and have had no problems and love them, but I am thinking of trying something else.

    need opinions

Charlie, I would agree with Bob. I have about 5 Burris Fullfield II scopes for the vary reason that he discribed. 3 of them are 3x9x50 that I use on my varmit rifles. They have the bullistic rectical which is real easy to use, and with practice you will have no problem 200-500yds. I have other rifles with Leupold scopes, which is an outstanding scope, one with a ziess, and from here on out I am set on only buying Burris because of the cost durability and reliabilaty.

    New Elk Rifle

I reload as time permits, depends on the time of year. I can handle quite a kick, people say that i am built like a tank and I am a farmer. As far as the terrain, it differs from cross canyons about 400 to 600 yds across to heavy cover with open shooting lanes. It really depends on how my scouting goes down the road. I am comfortable taking shots around 500 to 800 yds, I have had alot of practice on yotes. Does that help?

    DRAW RESULTS UP!!!!

Got a 39, 40A and 40B any deer tag for late Oct.
  19. Since we have this new area to on predator hunting, how many of you are apart of predator clubs in the state?? How often are you going out, and not to give away your honey hole, but what area of the state to you frequent. Every time I am out hunting yotes and cats I usually run into someone who is out doing the same thing, and lucky for my self they had been calling what I had already called. Most of the guys I run into arn't a part of a club and I was just wondering why not? As far as I know there are 3 or 4 in AZ, and what a great way to met other hunters and help out our deer and elk. I am a part of one and have met alot of great people of the last 6 years. I think that some of you guys that are just getting into this sport would benifit greatly by getting to know someone in these clubs that can really show you the ropes.

    Best Choice for Varmint rifle

I have 4 different varmit guns, Savage .204, .22-250, .243, and a Bushmaster Varmiter .223. By far my fav has to be my .22-250. I don't miss to often with it, and I can really reach out and drop them out to a good 450yds. I like my .204, I keep in in my work truck so when I see a yote that I just can't pass up I hop out and pop him with it. When I take 300yd plus shots and connect, It usually needs a fallow up shot. I almost never take out my .243 anymore. As for my AR15, I have had it about a year and havn't taken it out too much. It is a dead on tack driver that I have 1700.00 put into so far and for some reason I don't want to get it dirty!!! This season I am only going to use the AR to rack some kills with it! I have a buddy that bought a .17hmr. It is an awsome tack driver. When it comes to hunting yotes with it, you will spend more time tracking blood, if any than skinning. We have lost alot of yotes! I would buy the .22-250 and use .55gr V-max bullets w/H414 in the winter, H4895 in the summer. I reload, but when I am out and don't have time to reload, I buy the Hornady .55gr V-max If you have the money, Get the AR15, there a blast and a little cheeper to shoot!!

    Rhino vs Ranger......

Have you changed the oil your self? Its a pain in the butt. When your belt breaks, its usually a manufacture defect with the motor mounts and warranty will cover it. If you don't ask or know that they will call it wear and tear and your out of luck. Like you said they arn't the brightest bunch that are working on them, but when you build a good relationship with any mechanic they will treat you better and overlook a wear and tear and make it a covered part. I understand at the same time why you think that its a waist of money looking at it from the how does it cost 500 to tune and change oil/filters. I look at it as peace of mind. I screw it up its going to cost me more, they do it, they fix it.

    Rhino vs Ranger......

Ultramag- Your crazy if you don't buy the extra warranty!! Mine has payed for its self just in the past 8 months! If you take care of it like you should everything you have, you can see that it will pay for its self. One service on a ranger or a rhino will run you about 500.00!!! Do the math!

    Rhino vs Ranger......

I have a '07 Polaris Ranger and love it!!! Like many others I checked all the competors and have friends that have rhinos and the Artic Cats. There is no comperison. I would have been disapointed if I bought anything else. I have had it for about 8 months, have about 125hrs on it, and have gone about 1600miles. I take it in for service every 25hrs. I have hurd the problems with people burning belts, but I know about a dozen guys that have the ranger, and not one has had a problem yet. Spend the money and get the warranty, buy an extra belt, just incase, and have a spare tire!!! I have seen alot of guys with cracked rims from driving way to fast over rocks. Don't buy the 500!!!! And if you can, stick with the steel wheels, they hold up better to the rocks. You will not belive the places that you can get and the amount of time it takes to get there! I have seen a ranger or two roll over, but they rolled over cause they were stupid and drunk!! Not a good combo!! I use mine at work from time to time and you won't belive all the crap you can put in it! Ben
