Questions on a Remington 280 rifle
cosninocanines replied to Shooter McGavin's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
For your needs (not a hand loader) .270 all the way, I love my Tikka T3 and if the .270 was good enough for Jack O'Conner it's gooe enough for me. -
WOW!

15's on a tripod! I struggled with the same question many years ago and I wish I had gone the bino route. My friend can sit and glass for hours with his 15's, I need to rest my eyes on a regular basis. He finds sheep long before I pick them up and though I might have a slightly better view when I pick them up he's already looking for others.

You never know 18 pts is not pathetic but not a sure thing either

What about Jumpin Joe Caldwell! Back in the day I was at a game where he hurt his elbow hitting it on the rim, back then not that many guys were even dunking.

Barrel breakin
cosninocanines replied to cosninocanines's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Thanks everybody! I have one rifle Ruger Model 70 7mag which I have shot at everything I've hunted since 1976 (Marlin 30-30 that I got for Christmas when I was 11 before that) and have no complaints. I sighted it in and went hunting, changed scopes sighted it in and went hunting. Started using factory ammo sighted it in and went hunting. Never a problem. But when I won this Tikka at the Mule Deer Foundation banquet I had this thought about what do shooters do and barrel breakin was a hot topic. Going back to my old school roots, keep em clean oiled and know where they shoot. Once again Thank You to all that replied! -
I have researched this to death and found this article to be my choice in breaking in my new Tikka T3. http://www.rifle-accuracy-reports.com/barrel-break-in.html The one thing I'm having trouble with is finding LOCK-EEZ and wonder if it's the same as lock ease. It's a minor part but if I can find some I will use it. Any shooters know where I can find the product

Please pray for TJ!! He was in a bad quad accident!
cosninocanines replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Prayer Requests
TJ the higher the elevation the quicker you heal (at least that's what we think in Flagstaff) glad you are home safe. Can't wait to see that smiling face and hear that hearty laugh. Once again you will be intebted to Peg for her loving care. See you in Tonto when you get back. -
Is this a Sunday drive in the woods? If so Whitehorse Lake road (110 I believe) to JD Dam then on to Sycamore Point. Back to the Whitehorse Lake road out to the Garland Prairie road and out of the woods at Parks and I-40. Unit 8 is a very large unit and full of great country so no matter what or where you go you should enjoy it.

WHAT? -
Who will get to the border first? I've seen javelina in unit 10 and elk in 22 south, seems to me the best swimmers will make it to the border first.
