I have read on this site about drop shot set-ups but don't know what or how they are set up and fished. Could someone please help me out and explain the method? Thanks!

Strange! Today I was approached by a guy who wanted to find a butcher shop that sold rabbit. Back in the day we ate a lot of rabbit growing up and I'm sure it was available from most butcher shops and in the field. In todays world I doubt any butcher (fine meats) shops carry it but didn't know what to say, so I told him walk the rail line (Burlington Northern in our neck of the woods) and hunt his own rabbit's. I hope a lot of youngsters are still out there hunting them up.

Turkeys are wierd. Some years their going crazy before any hunt and others their just starting up mid to late May. Weather, Feed (snow pack) and temps can all impact when they fire up, so I wouldn't fret too much over missing the first hunt.

Welcome to the great state of Arizona. Your down in some good deer country and I feel the the folks on this site will be more than happy to provide any answers to questions you may have. Your going to be in "Big Country" most anywhere you go and I think as you get to know it you will love the diversity of our state. THANK YOU! Very much for your service.

A Few More ...founded by geniuses but run by idiots.
cosninocanines posted a topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
If your government believes the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more ,,, you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If a seven year old boy can be thrown out of school for saying his teacher is "cute" but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable ,,, you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If children are forcibly removed from parents who discipline them with spankings while children of addicts are left in filth and drug infested "homes"...you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government intrusion, while not working is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, subsidized housing and free cell phones...you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If you pay your mortgage faithfully, denying yourself the newest big screen TV while your neighbor buys iPhones, TV's and new cars and the government forgives his debt when he defaults on his mortgage...you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes you more "safe" according to the government...you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. -

If you can get arrested for fishing or hunting without a license, but not for being in the country illeagally.. you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If you have to get your parents' permission to go on a field trip or take an asprin in school, but not to get an abortion.... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If you have to show ID to board a plane, cash a check, buy liquor, or check out a library book, but not to vote who runs the government...you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If the government wants to ban stable, law-abiding citizens from owning gun magazines with more than 10 rounds, but gives 20 F-16 fighter jets to the crazy new leaders of Egypt...you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If, in the largest city you can buy two 16-ounce sodas, but not a 24 ounce soda because 24 ounces of a sugary drink might make you fat...you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If an 80 year old woman can be stripped search by TSA but a woman in a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. Only the half of it, it goes on and on.

I can verify Roger was able to get back up on his feet! -
A warm day in the high country and birds start thinking. Still a ways to go and more than likely more snow to go with it.

What a nice drive NOT! Took us an hour or so to get to Apache Maid then another 2 or 3 hours to tin roof cabin (Carte Blanc).
-
WOW! That was a long time ago, my family used to hunt tin roof with the Parkers and Wayne in fact my dad Fred Anderson and Wayne coached the North all stars one year and Jim was on that team. Just seeing the photo brought back many great memories of that area of Arizona. Someday I hope to maybe possibly hopefully get a sheep tag for the area.

Quite a race this year leaders have been hopscothcing each other the last few days. Here's a link to the action. http://iditarod.com/

With the new snow I filled the bird feeder yesterday and last night my friends emptied it. There were 2 rag bulls but they didn't come in to the feeder just milled around in the background, in all I counted 21 elk. The Approach At the Trough Eating from the spicket It's not polite to stare Down to the last drop You missed one
-
Yes, set about 4 feet off the ground on the deck and 8 to 10 feet from the feeder.

Holy Smokes what a shoot out Mitch Seavey has taken the lead and checked into Elim. It looks like the teams are having to travel on land instead of crossing the ice, this could be bad ice or a bad storm. PRDATR Thanks for showing the leaders.

Proposed Access Agreement on Boquillas Ranch in Unit 10
cosninocanines replied to Don Martin's topic in Turkeys!
Hopefully, but it is good news that they are willing to keep the discussion going. We can only hope that our voices and the voices of all the other hunters and recreasionist (not many out there) are being heard. When this started I was sure it would just be rammed down our throats to shut us up. -
