Thank You for your service those who served our country. Rest in Peace our fallen heroes. “I have never been able to think of the day as one of mourning; I have never quite been able to feel that half-masted flags were appropriate on Decoration Day. I have rather felt that the flag should be at the peak, because those whose dying we commemorate rejoiced in seeing it where their valor placed it. We honor them in a joyous, thankful, triumphant commemoration of what they did”. — Benjamin Harrison

NEWS RELEASE U.S. Dept. of Agriculture U.S. Forest Service Coconino National Forest www.fs.usda.gov/coconino www.twitter.com/CoconinoNF www.flickr.com/photos/coconinonationalforest For Immediate Release May 13, 2013 Public Affairs Contacts: Brady Smith, Coconino National Forest, 928-527-3490 Coconino National Forest to issue revised Motor Vehicle Use Maps Flagstaff, AZ – On Wednesday the Coconino National Forest will issue a revised, free Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) to show all of the roads, trails and areas open to motor vehicle use on the Forest. The free MVUM is re-issued each year and can be downloaded for use on smartphones and Garmin GPS devices at http://go.usa.gov/PEa (case sensitive). Hard copies of the map will be available at all Coconino National Forest Offices, nearby national forest offices, and other local businesses that choose to carry them. The 2013 MVUM includes a number of updates and corrections made as a result of public input received over the past year, and the Coconino National Forest continues to request public feedback on the map and will use this information to improve the map every year. “We have received hundreds of comments over the past year about our designated routes on the 2012 Motor Vehicle Use Map,” said Mike Dechter, lead planner with the Coconino National Forest. “Many of these comments were extremely helpful at pointing out errors, which we were able to fix on the 2013 version. More substantive route changes to open more routes and areas or close routes and areas will need to be reviewed through the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process. We expect to propose changes to the system of designated motor vehicle routes and areas in 2014 to begin the NEPA process.” Errors on the 2013 MVUM or any problems with road signs on the Coconino National Forest should be reported to forest officials through the “Travel Management Feedback” form, available online at http://go.usa.gov/Qww. ### ____________________________________ Mike Dechter Coconino National Forest NEPA, Appeals, and Litigation Coordinator 928-527-3416

Yum! Do you deliver to Flagstaff? I don't have an answering machine so I can give you directions directly to the house

I still wonder about this whole situation. On the Kaibab roads are marked and camping limits are 10 yards, the Coconino just realeased a new map and increased the camping restriction out to 100 yds on some roads. I have yet to encounter any FS folks in the field on any forest that brought up the issue so I think it's almost a personal thing with them on enforcement. I'm glad to hear G&F is treating this the way they are.

Coconino Forest Road Management Plan
cosninocanines replied to cosninocanines's topic in The Campfire
A link to downloadable map http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/coconino/landmanagement/projects/?cid=stelprdb5356224 The new travel management rules only affect motor vehicle use, therefore you can still camp where you had before. In areas with the dot notation, you can drive up to 300 feet from the road to car camp. On routes without the notation you can park one vehicle length from the road (~30 feet) and either camp there or walk to a campsite further from the road. -
All Righty Then good job TJ for calling and Peg for bagging a bigger bird. Restlessly waiting for pics.

I can not find any information taht the reservoir is going to be drained in fact the only info I found related to several water users obtaining water rights. SRP spent a lot of money over the past 2 years improving the delivery system. If anybody hears more please post it for us rim junkies.

Awesome and right in time to pump me up for this years application! Arlis Miller filming? Thanks for sharing. -
Yes and No You can place your second through fourth choice's on WT or Muley as long as the hunt numbers are in the same hunt ie first choice hunt 1036 second choice hunt 1086. You can also mix and match archery or rifle but all hunts must be for deer. But you can only draw 1 deer tag. If you draw and don't harvest you could purchase an over the counter tag if any were available.
