Desert deer starting to drop antlers?

Bumped up a buck (WT) this morning, I know it was a buck cause it still had nice antler material on it's head. He may be different since he was all alone.

ADBSS Picacho Mountain work project summary

Thanks for jumping in and helping put sheep on the mountain. I've worked on several sheep projects where the Wisconsin sheep folks have come down to help us. These have all been in 13B which allowed them to fly into Vegas and rent vans to our project. Those kids are a tremendous asset for us grey beards and are a lot of fun to visit with around the campfire. Thanks for joining us (I was not at this project but work all north of the Colorado river). Here is a list of our upcoming projects http://www.adbss.org/project_schedule.html

  7. With the American being larger and more rangy correct? Correct, the English females tend to be smaller but truthfully unless your a profesional breeder the 2 have been mixed (which is not a bad thing at all) and for the most part labs are labs.
  8. American / English is mainly a size issue. What size are the parents?

Question for Amanda or others familiar with Boyce Thompson

Wallace and Ladmo many of us "ancients" know but you might be hard pressed to find anybody in this generation who know who they are. Good Luck in your search maybe you could get Sky King to fly the area.

    Minimum age to build points

No fishing is a whole different set of rules You have to have a license to apply and at 10 you have to pass the hunter safety to get the license. So why not just walk the walk and apply for the tag? That way you build the bonus points like the rest of us as we scream when the pink slip shows up!

    Superbowl

I didn't have a horse in the race so all I hoped for was a good game. NOT! As a lifelong World Famous Buffalo Bills fan I think I finally saw a game that was worse than ONE of our losses. Once we (64 year native) got our own Phoenix now Arizona Cardinals I split my royalty. Maybe the Cards can be the first team to host and play in the Super Bowl! For now it's time to switch on Digger and NASCAR and wait for the pitchers and catchers to report.

    Your Dad's Best Hunting Story...

Not so much a specific story but the atmosphere. My dad and his hunting buddies used to to hunt some rough country in 6A (pre draw) and it took several hours on "goat trails" to reach "camp". To welcome others who might be passing through they hung up a "Carte Blanche Welcome here" sign and to my knowledge nobody ever showed up with their card requesting a spot. I sat around many a campfire and listened to the stories, some hunting some just life (enhansed by A-1 or Lucky Larger) hoping I could have some great stories to tell myself some day. He passed in 1995 at 82 and I made a point of taking a pinch of his ashes to Their Camp.

    What are these?

Most of the areas I look at on Google earth the shot is from the late 90's or early 2000's. I guess they update a little more often near the border. In the desert it doesn't take a lot of traffic to pound out a trail.

    site question.

Many years ago I used to help the Detention center (I wasn't a resident) retrieve, clean and butcher (meat cutters hate that word) road kills. I hope you had the stomach for what you found . All kidding aside I'm glad you could salvage some meat.
