Amazing how being your own boss actually keeps you away from doing what you want. Sometimes makes you want to give it all up. Nah I hate time clocks and bosses too much

Was that in 24B?

I never understood using carp for mulies. I have hunted both, and have seen and gotten close to the same number of each WT and mulie. I find them both to be amazing animals, and worthy of their praises. I have to admit though, this comes from someone who has taken more than a few WT and only had a couple of messed up stalks on mulies (bowhunting) so my desire for a mulie is pretty high. One has big ole antlers, and one has a mistique about them. Only been hunting the SW for 3 years, still waitintg for a MD tag. Thank god for OTC archery

Before seeing the pictures, or reading the screen name, I pictured the writer as a mature adult. Sure that says something about this guy. -

Next generation. Good as gold. Way to go ! -
Wish I could tell you, but that's up to the gun. It's odd, because my 1885 high wall likes the el-cheapo Federals better than any other store bought brand. I'd buy three different brands in the same weight and see which groups the best. Alternative is to buy one brand and get lucky or buy one brand, it doesn't shoot worth a darn, and you're going back and forth from the range to the store. Glad I now reload.

I have no experience with them, so I'm neutral in this conversation. Always good to hear both sides of the story.

How much did they pay you for that Blake? Just funnin ya.

I'll be up at the camp lending a hand. Hope to see a bunch of kids up there. Good luck to all.

Anyone have a tag for the 20c hunt this weekend?
-
Way to go!. What excitement. I'm going up to 20c this weekend to help with the youth hunts. I've never been so nervous in my life.

I haven't used them here, but in the south we would use code blue, or Tink 69 during the rut. When I would hunt from a stand or blind, I would use non-estrous doe urine. Really seemed to calm the deer down when they got close to you. I remember a company came out with bottles of buck semen. Never used it, never will. Nasty.

Guess you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. Good luck, I'll stick to fixing a/c's and walk ins

So much for the 6 P's. . Congrats, nice buck

Interesting. I'm surprised amanda hasn't chimed in on this one yet. She could probably give some good answers.

Do you weigh the animal when they come in, and give an estimate as to how much meat they'll get back? Saw another processor on the rim doing this. Would stop any complaints. If they didn't like what you told them, they could take their game somewhere else and stop any confrontations before it was too late.

Where did you hunt? I was up near Apache lake. Got one on the first day.

What is the best hunting show on TV
ac guy replied to SilentButDeadly's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I'm not a big fan of Wadell, but if you ever hunt the south, you'll be in a stand all day. It's too thick to spot and stalk, and there's not many times when still hunting is feasible. I do prefer spot and stalk, but you have to use what works best in the environment you're hunting. I'm kinda partial to Federal Experience. The host seems pretty down to earth, especially for a Hollywood actor. My least favorites are "Under Wild Skies", and the Beretta show. The hosts just come across as dumbasses, the type you would run into at a wine tasting, not a hunting lodge. -
Did you check it's tounge, hoofs, and lining of the chest cavity? Was the buck killed near water?
-
i don't know where he places in the all time list, but that is awesome. Way to go!!!

I never even thought about it,but the buck I took in Oct, was the first I've taken with a reload. That is pretty cool. Thank you mister accubond

My reloads for my 1885 high wall are always a lot longer than the manual calls for. I let the gun determine my length, not the manuals. Most manuals give you a length acceptable to fit rounds in a magazine. The rule i was taught was, if you have at least the diameter measurement of the round worth of the bullet seated, you're okay. say you're reloading a 30-06, you want at least .308'ths worth of bullet seated into the brass, not to include the boattail. I'm sure the more experienced reloaders here will have a more solid way of doing things.

That's pretty cool.
