I agree, but that's the way defense goes. You have to keep one upping each other to stay current. Would be a lot easier to just scrap all ICBMs, but unfortunately that won't happen. Maybe it would if we had solid defenses to make them useless.

I agree that this was probably target practice. Do I care? not really. Testing weapons to defend our arses doesn't bother me. If it was a practice for SDI, it's a shame we have to use excuses to develop it.

Had a last minute opp to go out yeterday for deer. Got to my spot, it was a perfect day, 50*, clear skies, little wind. I get ready, get my pack on, and grab my bow, when I realize that the limbs were awfully straight. I pull off my sling, and yep, busted string. All I could do is laugh, i figured it was a lesson learned, and getting mad wouldn't help. I have a HAM tag in the same area, so I decide to at least get some scouting in. I go up towards my spot, and of course, there stands a fat 3x3 mulie. Nothing huge, maybe a 130+, but definately a shooter. I giggle. The cool part is he was with 4 does who had 3 fawns with them. Don't know what they're eating, but I wish the rest of the state had some. So I go over a couple of hills and sit to glass, no doubt, there sits a nice buck under a tree about 400yds away. I frown. I did find a lot of fresh pig sign, so it was productive. Plus those bucks will still be there in August, so will I! __________________

Off topic, but I watched a show on VS the other day. They were on a buffalo hunt with a 30-30. Killed it with one shot! Granted it was a well placed shot. Goes to show, we underestimate the power of some calibers.

I guess I'm not reading this right. The way I see it, one guy paid over $4500 in fines and restitution, and another guy paid over $3000. Still not enough IMO.
