Well this is my first post. After five saturday's of scouting and 5 days of hunting my son and I saw about thirty does and five bucks. We also got to see two lions one of which we shot at and missed. I guess one could say I got Lion fever. It was an experience that we will cherish for a long time. We had glassed up this buck two and a half weeks ago after the second hunt. Opening morning we got shunked and decided to go try a new area. We just could not close the distance on some deer over the time we hunted Friday and Saturday. To make a long story short I went in by myself Thursday morning and it was picture perfect the way it all played out. At dawn I glassed up a Doe and fawn, I kept glassing the canyon and here came that same buck we had glassed up two and a half weeks earlier. This was the same buck that shunked us opening morning. I watched him start chasing that doe up and down the canyon. I decided to close the distance and moved from my initial spot down through the canyon and up to a vantage point. I ranged the deer at 400 yards. I watched this buck chase two does up and down that country. It was quite a show I was getting. They started to move closer so I got set up on a rock and had a real nice set up to shoot from. I ranged them again and the buck was at 340 yards. He turned broadside and I fired a shot and missed. The buck walked up a bit and was looking around wondering what had happened. He turned broadside again at 344 yards and I set the cross hairs 3 inches over the bucks shoulder and boom down he went at 8:15 in the morning. This was my third buck to date and definetly my longest shot. The only downfall is that my son was not with me because he needed to be in school. We both had tags and we worked hard but just came up empty handed on him. I took him out of school Monday afternoon and again Tuesday morning. It was like I said earilier a great experience. I want to personally thank Amanda for this sight. Every day I come and check out every bodies stories and it gets me pumped. Congrats to all on your tremendous deer and stories. Here are a cople of pictures of the country I was hunting in and one of my buck. Cola Blanca ( Gerald)

I have kind of a different question. What is the procedure one follows to boil the skull to have it have the bleached white effect? Any pointers? Please I would like to try it on my lastest buck.
