Need some help with setting up a new gun tho I've got many none are of this caliber.so here's what I've got its a Interarms mauser action rebarreled with a brux and a hawkins break timmney trigger and a mcmillan a 3-5 adjustable stock its got a egw 20 moa rail and topped with a 5x25x56 atacr I've never set up for length of pull or comb height. Any help with setup would be appreciated this is my setup I work a lot but am available sat or Sun after 12 thanks

New pics it comes with rings and bases and the scope is a weaver v16 .there are no marks dings or damage to stock or blue .

Got hit but not sure javi or turkey .

Bullets are built and the gun is shooting sub 1/2 moa at 100 yds and grouping good out to 200 .we are 2 weeks till hunting. I was due to meet my dad on the 8th for a week and I get a message that my grandma passed on Thursday.So hunting is on hold and ill be out for a funeral instead.I wish I could honesty say I wish I could live to be 95 like her but I could see how she felt about it when we talked last and every single person she knew was gone and she was Lonley .she will be missed but she is no longer Lonley. Love you grandma!!

The timmney is absolutely the way to go .I just got done with a rebuild on my grandpa's old mark x went from 243 to long range 7-08 .

Your absolutely correct it is stainless if it has the s and armor alloy if it has a A for a serial # I had to ask my dad he is big into them he also said the engraving is different .it is a beautiful gun and as a rifle would be great for a youth gun as most had a little shorter length of pull he said.

Down to the last 100 to 150 shells left come and get them before there all gone!!!!

Beautiful gun but its probably not stainless I would bet it's a armor alloy coated frame .if you can stick a magnet to it that would tell you for sure.I could be wrong but I thought only the g2 was stainless .the alloy was made from the 70s thru the80s .if it's a alloy gun the hinge pin is smaller and most uncoated barrels won't fit without modifying the frame or the pin slightly.

If you happen to go nx8 check with sinwagon he usually has some high end scopes for sale most are new or as new .I got my atacr thru him and you could save yourself a few bucks over retail

As mountain said I'd be looking for a 30-30 .I've got a Winchester and it's a little heavy on the trigger needs a upgrade kit and I've got a marlin in 45-70 and it's smooth as butter.it just depends on your application.

I have a few guns with leupold scopes and I've had some ziess .my new rig has a Nightforce atacr 5x25x56 and you can see the difference in the glass on the Nightforce .I also have the shv. line 4.5x14x50 f1 and for what it is the scope is better than the comparable from the other brands.Lance Kenyon is the guy to talk scopes with he is really up on them and can give you all the info your looking for based on your application

Its just been luck.sometimes you can walk in and they have a few boxes and other times its 0 I've been checking a few stores and not much is out there I did score a box of 243 corlok at Wal-Mart several weeks back only had 1 box.seems shoppers in aj or Chandler is a good starting point and the sportsmans on the west side runs good compared to the east for some odd reason.

Will be a hard find with almost all shells hard to find or outa stock .I've got a mossberg 190 bolt 16 gauge that is ported and some shells for it your welcome to try .the 16 is just slightly bigger than a 20 but ported it should shoot softer.

Am I the only one that thinks we need a few doe hunts in some units to balance the heard.not every year but every few depending on population and ratio.move the hunts from unit to unit as needed .I'm not a biologist just a hunter .it works in the mid west .better balance could lead to a healthy heard.there are several units that the doe to buck population seems outa wack .

If you look at the second page I've stated that my logic behind this subject was wrong .there were several other ideas that were thrown out that make some good conversation and might help.I've not looked for anyone to agree with me I've only responded to comments that were directed towards me.
