With the caliber winner the 7-08 let's start looking at rifles.Here are some basics I'd like to keep the cost in the $600 to $800 range.per gun I'd like them to have a break or threaded for one .Saves about $280. Per gun After that I'm open to just about any gun or brand .I'd like to stay away from the cheaper axis line . I did look at the ruger american in the go wild edition and for the money it fills a lot of the criteria for a gun at just a hair above $600 each. So let's see what you guys come up with.

That's a very good question.As I ran the giveaway I paid for the transfer in payson for one winner and the boys at Chandler tactical waived the other.IF I can pick up the rifles on sale between now and let's say the end of the year ill buy them.Given the 6 to 8 hundred per gun budget I figure gun, scopes and rings at around 1000 or so per gun.looking at leupold freedom 3x9 scopes .Simple and easy for kids.I'd like to do 3 packages depending on what I can afford.Hopefully by next week I can set up a separate bank account for just the giveaway funds so I can do e- banking donations.

One day I hope your view will change.Its no joke to have to point a gun at someone and tell them your going to kill him if he doesn't put his daughter down .I don't think she was even 2 yet and he had her about 2or 3 feet off the ground. It will definitely put things in perspective.

A lot of that is conditioning.The women get use to it.Back in my twenties I about shot my neighbor for beating his wife.His stepson came over and said Charlie was going to kill his mom.Charlie was a rather large black man .He beat the crap outa her and when I stepped in he had there 1 year old by her hair off the ground.Lucky for bolth of us the cops showed up .She didn't press charges and it was before the cops had to .Its some chicken sh*t stuff to hit a women.Its even worse to joke about it .Some day that could be your daughter.Kenny is a piece of crap that just uses people to get what he wants.Hopefully you get your things back and never have to go through this again.

Usually his dad Eric would clean up kennys mess .The kid used his dads card to buy a 7 mag and never paid for it .Then when he dropped it outa his truck he finally gave it to his dad. Skinny kid that always had a mouth full of that dip crap .

I will say they do raise a ton of money and they put it back into habitat and water projects,and the kids elk camp.Anyone know why the rez elk tag tends to get less money?

It was the only tag that you didn't see a single bidders number raised and the amounts keep going up.All the other tags in the auction you'd see the bidders .I thought it was weird and that's the story I got.The price of the tag wasn't set just the maximum the guy was allowed to offer.I could be wrong and I'm sure there are some members in the elk society that can clear it up.Good thing is that if they did the banquet we should soon see new in the box guns in the classified.

I went with a friend of mine and his wife a few years back and the guy at the table with us had bid on the elk tag.Its not always what you think as the bids were set and they already new what the tag would go for .Most is just for show .That year the tag went for about the same money to some rich guy that had sent his ranch hand to the banquet.They do verification on the bidders ability to pay and usually have a set max that they will pay.I will say they make a ton of money with all the raffle and drawings and I did win a cool pack from them .I use it for all my tree stand stuff .

Second the not a vortex fan.I just sent back 2 of 4 new scopes because they wouldn't hold zero.I don't hunt unit 10 but have had several unit 6a muzzleloader tags in November and it can get cold enough to freeze the water in a trailer tank no problem.The weather can get screwed and be warm today and freezing tomorrow.The later hunts the elk have been pressured and there are a lot of busted up bulls .You might need to get off the beaten path and get into the thick stuff to find them.Set yourself a reasonable goal on the bull your after and if its good enough on the last day it should be good enough on the first.

Sent you a pm I've got a beretta 391 teknys in 20 gauge I could lend out for the hunt and I'm in Gilbert.Generic pic but that's the exact gun I've got.

Kinda figured he looks like the crypt keeper from tails from the crypt myself.

What calibers would you guys like to see for next years giveaway? I'd like it to be a off the shelf caliber that will work for elk and deer .Also gun suggestions ruger American,savage,browning ,etc.I'm open to anything .I'd like to get them with factory threaded barrels to lower cost for breaks . Thinking 243 on the low and no more than the 30-06.
