Two vortex scopes junk .1 new leupold 3x9 cds and the gun is finally tracking the bullets in and shot a decent group!!! The 3 shots in the center are the last 3 shots today.I can tell you this thing has been kicking my butt.I'm glad it shoots and I can't wait to see who wins.

I've got the smaller version 4.2 barrel magna ported makes for a great backup for hunting.

Get a map of the unit for starters.You want one that shows forest roads and water sources.Look up your area on Google earth it will show water and possible places to look .Then just get out and spend time in the unit glassing and looking for elk. Maps plus or flatline are good maps also it takes time in the unit to figure out where they are and where they can be when the time comes to hunt. But time in the field is paramount to having any luck.

Hopefully I can get it to shoot a good group today after work .I got with boarman03 and scoped the barrel last week and it's a 4 groove and is deceiving the rest of the gun is in great shape but the bore had lots of build up in it .Fingers crossed it groups some 150s today after a good 3 or 4 hours of scrubbing out the crap in the barrel.If for some reason it won't shoot worth a crap ill give the winner the option to choose to try the rifle for themselves and or pick from a remington 7400 semi auto or a winchester modle 70 .The point is to give the kids a gun that will shoot .I 'll post new target results as I can .

Check craigslist I sold lots of my saltwater fishing gear there and what was left I traded my dad for a ruger redhawk 44 mag.There are a lot of guys fishing salt in this state and stuff pops up from time to time.

Anybody turn him in to g and f yet as there are several posts about hunting and tags not to mention the possible felon in possession .After reading the long list of charges and such he has lost his hunting privilege for 10 years ?

There's a list of charges if you look up his name and poaching.It was in 2020 I believe.

So if the guy is a poaching p o s and a felon why is there a post for a rifle in the classified? That's a felon in possession .That will get him instantly a free ride to jail .

I've heard of fakes in the swarovski and leupold lines but until today I have not seen one .Atleast he did not say its real.probably couldn't hit a beer can at 5 feet with that junk.

Never seen a swarovski in a black box they usually are green .Its probably a great scope made in China.They are like $359 direct off the ⛵ .Good luck selling that fake.

Works in Texas for deer and out here for elk .

I think rpgs work best and there easy to get.

I've got a old blue barrel I could try the clr on .But as stated most of the barrels were stainless for that trick.I think ill try the plug and soak first and then. Try the paste .Its probably got 50 years of build up in it and I don't have enough time to replace the barrel so hopefully I can get it clean and shooting a decent group.

Blued steel barrel .Probably has several years of carbon buildup.

Absolutely 30-06 is enough .Put that shot right behind that shoulder and watch them drop!I've only seen them go no more than 60 to 80 yds all my hunting buddy's all use them .I like my 300 win mag.

I'm just throwing money in and don't want to see the swings in losses .It should come back up .I'm just glad to have the company's 50 percent match back

First gun I ever bought twenty some years ago.They shoot great for the money .Paid like 200 bucks for it and shot the he 'll outa it twice a week .I probably had 10000 rounds thru it when I finally sold it .

Maybe Bob needs to read his own posts! He cried like a old lady about the girl getting his sheep tag .Most were happy as h ell for her.It made the story even better to see that she shot a nice ram.Then the fool claims to be a res in this state but says otherwise in his own post.Also Bob getting a lifetime licence won't make you a res if you don't live in this state! Your just a non res with a lifetime licence is all .I assume your can read .To be a res you must have a primary res in this state. Good luck and good by to you .
