Load data for staball6.5 and a 7-08

Same lot some where from father's day pig hunt and the rest about 20 rounds was loaded the week before I got to the range last week.Im super meticulous with loading for that gun and check everything including seating depth down to .001 to make sure I'm as consistent as I can possibly be.The brass was prepped and I was supposed to load it before the pig hunt but ran out time .I had 20 rounds to hunt with and was running low after a few shots at coyotes. -
Please do a review when you get this scope .I've been looking at them for a ar10 I took my nightforce shv off. Spent years collecting parts and built the best ar10 I could shot a few rounds then took the scope for my paramount pro muzzy.Damm ar just sits in the safe waiting for a scope .

I'll pull the can and put the break back on and see what it does .It should be faster with the can .Maybe lab radar vs magneto speed? For the difference. I want to get it figured out so I've got a good consistent load so I can start to stretch out my yardage .Currently I've only had it out to 300 on steel. -
I'm about opportunity it's the only time I get off work anymore .So I don't put in for the premium hunts anymore. Been drawn 14,15,16,and 20 for various hunts in 6a .Two were general cow and two were muzzy bull .Took elk on 3 of 4 hunts.I did the late 23 archery hunt 1 year and saw 1 bull the whole hunt and had a release malfunction that cost me that bull .The late hunts can be tough.

Found, thanks! .250 savage/ .250-3000 ammo or brass
Crazymonkey replied to HAWKEN's topic in Classified Ads
Looking into it more and dies are available and it looks like 6.5 Creedmoor brass is the way to go .Neck them down and you'll have plenty of brass and the ability to make all the ammo you could need. -

That's a tough one .The only place with any ammo for sale is gunbroker. -

Going by one of the charts I figure I'd have lost about 65 to 70 feet per at there 1.42 fps. The temp and a suppressor where the only changes. The can would mess with barrel harmonics and probably get me some back pressure and maybe the rest of the speed .The r17 still shot with a es of 22 and a SD of 9 . I'm going to work up loads with different powders the staball ,varget, and r16 were recommended. So it looks like a trip to Bruno is in order . -

Thank you .I'll start there and work my way up.Its a custom 7-08 with a brux 26inch barrel that was put together by Phoenix custom rifles .It's disappointing to loose so much from the summer at 3034 to 2900 with current temps. Hopefully this powder is more stable and still gets me some speed and accuracy. -

It's a 7-08 and I need to run copper for California hunts with dad. I was running r17 and it was shooting great in the summer but lost it in the cooler temperatures. 168s would probably be slow and not enough powder to get them going. I was at 3034 and dropped to 2900 -
My dad is a hunter safety instructor in California and he tells me it's hard to get new instructors .Most are retired gentlemen and do it for the enjoyment of teaching the next generation. When they do finally stop teaching it's almost impossible to replace them.I was asked many years ago if I was interested in teaching or helping out here in Arizona and had to pass as I don't have enough time to dedicate .Please remember most are volunteering there time and most will make room for the younger kids .

I didn't see anything in there manual that gives you the data on hold over .But most are only true at full power unless they are noted for a set magnification. Some are just short of full power and will usually have a mark or dot on the mag ring.First focal plain is the way to go if you can get use to the cross hair shrinking and growing with magnification.

Way to go !!nice ram

There is currently a post in the classifieds for 243 ammo for sale. Good luck with your pig hunt .I did California pigs over father's day and had a good time.
-
I ordered the 26 sendero light a few days ago and they were still showing 1 in stock this morning and it was 50 bucks cheaper .I'm hoping they will give me the better price but that's still a great deal .

Anyone headed to Tucson and back to the valley that could pick these up and meet in the valley? There going to some of the most grateful kids .

There older Bushnell I believe 2x 6 but I'd have to check .They seem to have a small eye box and if your not perfect aligned behind the scope you can't see .Probably just need new scopes with a wider field of view .Maybe a bi-pod and a bag will take care of it.
