Going to definitely change my tactics . My hope was to use my tc encore in 7-08 but with just a red dot it's only a 50 yd gun . So im taking the 280ai, 375ruger, and if the weather is good maybe the 300rum . It's a 700 deluxe engraved blue steel so I don't want it in water . Might be a short hunt for me due to family medical issues with my daughter. I was going to eat the tag but wife says go . If she calls im out . So going to go hard at it and hopefully my helper and his 11 yr old can keep up.

Any luck ? Elk still bugling . We weren't up long enough to hear anything .

I've seen two real good bucks a few years ago . We see lots of doe but the last year or two the numbers seem to be up . Nothing monster size on the bucks but lots more doe . Where you'd only see a few it's 20 or more and a few bucks with them.

Might get good for the kids hunts . They can't shoot bulls but when there talking it makes finding cows easier.

We always set blinds a day or so early but know it's first come . We are in way ,way before the sun comes up just to be sure . Had a guy in my blind a few years ago . Just backed out and went to plan b. After we were all done hunting tagged out . Went in and got the blind . Dude left a hat inside. Most have some respect when they know your in a spot but some don't care.

My buddies were in 6a and got it done . Said the bulls were screaming there heads off. No luck yet in 5 b tho. Come on Joey ! 4 more weeks till my hunt then dad's is November.

Such cool birds. Did a hunt with my dad's gun club several years ago . Farm raised planted birds on a private lodge . Lazy fat birds would hardly fly . Didn't even know they were a thing here.

My buddy is in 6a and said his brother and nephew just about got run over by a 5x5 and 2 cows on the run Saturday. I haven't heard any updates as of yet. Will check in after dark and see if there's any updates. It's been hot so probably not alot going on yet.

Some jack wagon was arrested for trampling a Charlie memorial. Hope he gets more than the cuffs put on him! I'd have liked to see the guy in the crowd level the guy .

I've got a timney in a custom Mauser action and at 1.3 lbs it's good but my rem clone kelblys action with a trigger tech diamond is a much better trigger .

The guys that ride right up and around a waterhole that your hunting right at first light and again just at prime time . You can clearly see the blind were in so no excuse! Least I could do . They covered all the transfers for the kids . I didn't expect that as there a business and 5 transfers is more than a few dollars .I expected to pay the bill and got we covered them . So lunch is the very least I could do. Great staff and always great service.

Just a final count of entries for the year Kids over 10 there were 107 entries this year. Kids under 10 there were 33 kids entered Not to bad for the first year on the under 10 Kids. Axis works in tempe, Phoenix custom rifles, or southern express ,all real good places and good at there craft . I've had Phoenix custom rifles re- build my grandfather's gun . It's amazing as a 7-08. Had Eric at axis works build my 280ai and it's just as good .

Last year when I was helping on a champ hunt we were on a good bull only to have the rifle scope camera white wash with the fog and snow . This bull was our target bull and as the fog cleared another hunter came from the other side of the trail and it was all over for us as the bull got up and walked outa our view . Lots of obstacles for disabled hunters .

Wanting to trade for 22lr Ammo. These came in for the kids giveaway and I can't use them as i give away 22lr . Looking to trade for comparable 22lr Ammo or I'd sell so I can get some 22lr Ammo for next year's giveaway.

Maybe I miss raed your comment. But the muzzleloader stuff is what utah and new mexico implemented with out any clue that fixed 1 power scopes are impossible to find and then are changing the regs again to no scopes . The advantages go to the rifle hunters that cry about unfair advantages for everyone else . More rounds in the gun ,more magnification, and more yds .
