When a animal has a non-typical point the animal can be scored both ways, typical and non-typical and P&Y suggests that the owner goes with the score that will have the animal entered the higher in the record book, not necessarily the highest score.

I don't know, all I do know is I am leaving to go on an archery Bull Elk hunt soon with a Coues tag at the same time down south. I will be pretty busy.

I see them every year in 36A. Last year while glassing from a vantage point in the Black Hills I noticed three of them pushing their bicycles thru a pass. One of them even had a hand pump to air up his tire.

I am curious as to why you would think so especially from your experience. It takes an intelligent person to be able to call the deer by their correct name and know where the name orginally came from. Quite to the contrary, the people I associate with are well versed in the art of hunting the small deer and do call them by their "correct" name.

Nice buck. Congratulations.

Says who? I pronounce it as "coos" but many of my associate measurer's pronounce it the correct way of "cows".

I will be somewhere between the Colorados, Black Hills or the southern end of the Sierretas. Last year I camped on the south side of the Black Hills but I am leaning on the Colorados this year. I have an archery elk tag at the same time so I probably won't be down there until the second week.
