Great story and pictures. Looked like your hunt was a success to me.
-
Congratulations on your success.
-
Scotty, congratulations on your first deer.
-
Definitely something different that you don't see or hear about everyday. It is a shame.

Congratulations on your bucks. That first one is a dandy. -
Looks like it has some Axis deer in it.

I was always under the impression that the State Land Department did not have any field officers since most of the patrol is done by G&F and the Sheriffs Office.
-
Congratulations to your mom. That is one fine antelope.

Clay, it was nice meeting you and your dad. It wasn't to hard to miss your vehicle. You had stickers on the front and back windows. -
Congratulations on the trophies. I have a couple of friends up there right now after them.

Bowhunting in Arizona Record Book deadline
Arizona Griz replied to Redbeard's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Your deer must be big one. Go to the BIA website (www.bowhuntinginarizona.com) and click on the measurer's tab. Scroll down to Marvin Zeiser and give him a call. He will help you. -

You can use a copy of the P&Y score sheet. -
Nice cat, those dogs did their job.

Those are some great Monster pictures.

I saw one earlier this week down by Kearney.

Congratulations on a nice ram.

I have the November 4B archery tag. It was my 4th or 5th choice. It will be a tough hunt but it's in the backyard of our cabin.

I use both Winn Free Flight and the Scotts Little Bitty Goose.

They are so cool. I have seen a few in the last couple of years.

I think the elk actually went for 190K and the antelope for 62K or there abouts. It was a good evening for elk in Arizona.

Red Rabbit is talking about Arizona Trust Land. BLM does not require any permit to access but it does contain a lot of no entry wilderness areas. You both have some inaccuracies in your statements. The State Land department can not enforce their own regulations on having permits, but all state certified law enforcement officers can. So if a deputy sheriff stops you on state land, he can cite you if you don't have a hunting license or a state permit. So can a G&F officer. Wilderness areas are not "no entry" areas, you just can not drive a motorized or mechanical vehicle (bicycle) into them. You are correct on both accounts. I didn't clarify myself very well. I am curious at to why the State Land department can't enforce their own regualations. Is it a manpower problem? Can you provide a little more insight?

SCI scoring

It is quite obvious that you both missed the point. I am not trying to make any enemys here since that was not the intention. So let me explain it a lttle better. All I am saying is that is does take some time to accurately measure an animal especially when working with a 400" elk. If the hunter has no intention of having the animal submitted to a particular record book program then why have it measured at all. They surely can measure it themselves and live with that score. I personally take the time to review the application with the hunter so as to not have any errors and even mail in the application for them. I fully support the creditable record book programs that are out there and they are only as good as the animal information supplied back to them. BTW, I never said that it was a compensated position or even suggested as such.
