The Sportsmens Constituent Group met with AZGFD and a commissioner last night to review another round of the proposed fee increases for tags/licenses. I think they have really listened to.public input because they have done away with premium hunts and are reducing junior licenses to $5 dollars. Since they have not raised prices since 2007 , I feel comfortable with where they ended up at. The last draft of their proposed new fees is on www.SCGINFO.com and on the AZGFD website. There normally is so much mudslinging about AZGFD so I wanted to post something positive. The commissioners final vote is in August. Thanks Allen Taylor

AZGFD; Proposed fees
coueshunter replied to coueshunter's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Bowhunter makes a great financial point. Maybe there is still room for adjusting to "youth" application fees that are lower than proposed. I am sure the department doesn't want to lose kids. This could be an oversight. Overall they did a good job and saved many hunters from paying for premium tags. I will call them about the youth application fees and see if any modifications can be made...Allen Taylor -

1223 License Simplification Bill
coueshunter replied to SpeedGoat's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
the opportunity is now for everyone to express their opinion. either go to a meeting or submit responses online. as Don has mentioned, there hasn't been an increase for some years while every cost to run the game dept has. I may not like paying more, but I understand why. I have expressed areas I think should be improved and fees that shouldn't go up....everyone should send their comments in before decisions are made..Allen Taylor -
1223 License Simplification Bill
coueshunter replied to SpeedGoat's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
this is a 2 part situation. the first part was getting the legislature to agree to let AZGFD manage fees etc. and based on a presentation I went to a couple months back, I agreed that the game dept should have control over pricing. this 2nd part will be the pricing and I am pretty sure all of us will be listened to. I don't think there is any hidden agenda. just make sure everyone makes their voices heard by either going to the public meetings or emailing in comments....Allen Taylor -

Republicans Challenge DHS Ammo Buys
coueshunter replied to azmetalman's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Casey, the first link posted shows that DHS is purchasing 1000 rounds per officer above what our military soldiers use. I think it is a valid question senators are posing to the DHS. nobody believes that agents shouldn't practice, but the massive amounts of ammo over and above our military sure hurts many taxpayers who are struggling just to keep jobs/pay bills. in addition, private consumers are not able to find affordable ammo with the supply being drained by the feds. I don't think this specific question is lacking any credibility regarding. published usage numbers and purchase reports. it also isn't a conspiracy theory if supported by purchase statistics/trends that are available due to the freedom of information act. -
I am in mesa. work in phnx. if I can't find a private party then I will buy new.

single shot, I like what you had to say. I would like to add this: My God tells me "Faith without works is dead". For me, that means if I dont do those "good works" then I am not practicing what he wants. Good works wont get us into heaven, only accepting Jesus will, but "good works" are an important part of "living our faith"...........keep on keepin on.............AT............

Coach, I have felt that way many times. I know God wants us to "Be in the world, not of the world". To me, this means not placing greater emphasis on earthly things/events/ etc. but more on Spiritual stuff. We need to be aware/concerned of the stuff in our life, but not get worried. We need to develop spirtitually by reading his word and putting to practice everything we learn from him. This all is easier said than done, but if we place our worries/cares/concerns at the foot of the cross and continually ask for his guidance, he is faithful. Satan is the "great deciever" and is always looking to help us question God. Trust God and continue reading/praying and God will be faithful...............prayers will continually be sent for you and all the believers here on CW.................Allen...............

. Presentation on the Pilot Big Boquillas Ranch Access Project and Agreement and an updat
coueshunter replied to bonuspointjohn's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
John, as has been discussed by various groups, "public access" is a big issue. On the surface it appears that this pilot program will 1. provide public access for a nominal fee 2. satisfy the rancher who is also a large constituent in this issue. As it sits right now, there are large chunks of land leased up by an outfitter that does not allow for any "public access" unless you pay the outfitter fee so it appears "on the surface" that this pilot program may in fact be good news for the average hunter...........Allen............... -
