    Priorties Change

Jack, sometimes God gives us a really good wack on the head to wake us up ( he did this for me about 1 year ago) I know right now it is rough understanding some of the trials you are up against, the pain and the loss, but I know if you rely on him and put him first, all the other stuff will work out. I have had to cut way back on my hunting/scouting/helping out etc....and put God first, my Wife second, family third and me fourth. That is/was a hard thing to do because I am selfish, but each time it gets easier and more beneficial. I will continue to pray for you.........p.s. great bucks..............Allen.........

    Junior hunt re-cap

I took my son Travis out friday night for his junior hunt. I ran into Stanley & his son this past saturday. It was great to see alot of kids out and the helpers out like Younghunter trying to get a buck for the youth. My son Travis missed a good buck yesterday morning and is kinda bummed about not shooting a deer, but at least he got to see alot of deer, shoot at a nice coues deer and be out in field. Travis passed up a nice 3x3 muley friday night, I guess he really is a "dyed in the wool" coues hunter........LOL........hope everyone had a great time on the youth hunt............Allen Taylor..........

    Hunting Permits

Blaserman, I sure didnt mean to come across wrong or offensive, sorry if I did. I believe the gun permits all cost approximately the same, but the outfitters charge whatever they feel necessary. Didnt think you were new to the game or any such thing, just have seen quite a few different "gun permit" prices myself and have actually got the gun permit myself a time or two and know that there is a difference between what it costs from the Mexican government and what each outfitter charges. I believe the gun permit for the whole state of Sonora is the same regardless of what species you are hunting..............Allen.......

    Successful Jr. hunt

Cogratulations to Ryan, what a fantastic buck. The junior hunts are fantastic, taking "our future" out and showing them the right things to do as sportmen/women and outdoors people is something very important. Congrats again to Ryan..............

    Hunting Permits

The outfitter is charging you an additional fee for handling the paperwork. Just like in buying a car, the dealer is making a profit, so the outfitter has a profit figure calculated in the gun permit cost. I wouldnt haggle with it, the outfitter is not making much money off the permit. Generally the cost of guiding down in Mexico is much more for the outfitter than here in the states. On a coues hunt, the outfitter pays anywhere from 750 to 1200 per coues tag then pays others in the camp like the cook, guide etc. he also pays for the gun permit so really for 3500-4000 for a coues hunt, there isnt much profit for the outfitter. Gun permit actual cost is around 350.00...............Allen............

  8. I was up in Duwane Adams camp this year and they shot some monsters. It was also great to have Chef and Orlin come into camp and visit, first time I have met these fellow CW members face to face.........the three biggest bucks killed were 210, 205 & 200" respectively. Man what a great early hunt. I expect the late hunt will be a great success as well................I will see if Duwane can let us post the pictures up on here..............Allen...........

What Do you think he scores?

Great looking buck. I would guess him to be around 105" or so. His tine length hurts his score, but score is only one thing, he is a great buck and a buck most people should be proud to have taken........Allen.....

All of the bucks look fantastic, even the one that looks like it died right by the fence that the old man put his tag on. One thing I wonder about is did you guys bring toilet paper or did Jeff use his sleeves?.........LOL............great job.........Allen..........

    Kaibab Success.........

Yeah Kevin, the deer were all over. They really started moving and literally everywhere we went, there were lots of deer. That first big buck was guided by Frank Lopez and it is a monster. They got him down low east side. Duwane's customers all got deer and had a fantastic time. Generally all the deer were real healthy looking up there and I hope AZGFD realizes that the carrying capacity is larger than they have estimated in the past. Hopefully trophy quality is still being the target up there and they dont feel the need to "increase hunter opportunity"..................AT........
  20. Mr. Hoss, I didnt/dont mean to be argumenative. The National Rifle Association helped get Jennifer Martin appointed as one of the Commissioners over the objections of most all the conservation groups here in Arizona. As you know, the commission is a political organization that oversees all aspects of game management for the state of Arizona. I found it very unusual that NRA endorsed Jennifer Martin over a couple other more qualified and "Hunter friendly" candidates that were backed by ADA, AZbowhunters, AZelk etc.........I just am not sure how much NRA does in the interest of AZ hunters. Where were they during the USO fiasco? As to voting, that seems to be the only way we have a voice so everyone must exercise their priveledge to vote.............Allen Taylor........

    Yaqui and the Coues

couple of my friends are Yaqui and perfor the deer dance ceremony. I have given them hides and horns to make their head dress. Neat stuff, thanks for posting.............Allen.....
  23. Mr. Hoss. when someone talks about "the NRA's Commissioner" they are talking about Jennifer Martin who was placed in her position by Napalitano and supported by the NRA despite objections by almost all the AZ conservation groups. While Ms. Martin may be a good person, she was much less qualified to perform the duties of commissioner than others. The NRA went on to have fights and mudslinging various AZ people. The NRA's support politically in this state for issues like the 9th court USO ruling and others has been sorely lacking in many outdoors people's minds. P.S. I voted at 6:30 this morning...............Allen.......
