O.K. here is a good problem. I drew a late 36c tag for rifle, but naturally I will be out bow hunting on the opener. I dont know for sure wether I can hold off arrowing a buck if he is over 85" type buck. What does everyone else think? What would you do in this situation????????? Allen Taylor............

If someone is looking for a challenge, then they need to spot and stalk a coues deer with a bow. A spot and stalk kill is the ultimate challenge. As for early hunts vs. late hunts, sometimes you can put in for a "97% draw odds" hunt for Oct. and not be drawn two years in a row. I and a couple friends have defied the draw odds and havent drawn when the stated odds were 97%. This year I put a late hunt as my first choice and drew. I am just pumped to have a tag..................Allen..........

This is fun just reading what everyone say's. Most likely I will just plan on the Dec tag being my hunt since I have waited 6 years to draw a trophy tag. I will hunt bow, but with my son being the shooter. Unless a monster steps out, I will plan on killing a good buck in Dec............again, what a great problem to ponder...........Allen............

It is a great problem to have. I hadnt thought about what Christian said, signing my tag over to my son. Anyway, I am pretty sure I will hold out for a monster on my bow hunt, something pushing 100" and if that doesnt present itself, then plan on the dec hunt. It really was a rush last year killing one with my bow, so I dont know if I will be able to resist pulling the release on a mature buck.............Allen........

I have used their packs for 4 years now. I have a bunch of badlands, a Kifaru and now 2 of the Eberlestock's. I use the gunslinger and put my tripod down the gun holder in the middle. I have packed out deer and all my gear in the gunslinger and love it. I love all the spots to tie stuff off on. Thanks........for your review............Allen Taylor.......

Thanks everyone, I just bought one today. Allen.

Help me out, isnt that NM buck at 196" or so the new world record? If the stockwell buck is the current, I am sure in the next couple of years, that is possible to be broken..........AT.......

I have a 104" rifle and a 74" bow killed this past year on my first try bowhunting. I am as proud of each, they both have given me great pleasure in re living the hunt. Hopefully I get a monster this year with a dec tag. I have been tagless for 5 years rifle..........Allen........

I am with Dubtee and the others, Leica really makes a good unit that is very accurate and most importantly reliable in low light conditions.........spend the few extra bucks and get Leica........I threw my bushnell away because it wasnt accurate and wouldnt pick up stuff in low light........Allen...... -
I havent seen the article we are talking about in "not my hero". What magazine is it in? I would need to read it before throwing stones or congratulations...........Allen Taylor......

is there any way to see this article on-line? I have looked at North american whitetail website and cant find it. How about a link..........Thanks............Allen........

We had a great time as well. Good to see people you havent seen for awhile. (Chef, Orlin, Amanda, Christian etc....) I was sad that some of the stuff went so cheap. I ended up buying the Cabela's tent/cots in the silent auction. We bid on a few live auction items until they got to rich for our blood. I sure hope ADA made the kind of money they needed for our deer............The banquet is a ton of work, I know my wife and I are going to help next year, how about anyone else???? Volunteers are really needed for ADA..............Allen Taylor........

I got my magazine in the mail (after returning from big lake area). I love this magazine, it is a premium. Amanda had a great article in there and of course the rest of the mag was great. Any serious hunter should get get this magazine. I like the gear listing items like the Talus boots by Danner. It gives you an overview on the products, helps you decide more so than just shopping.........Thanks Chris.....................Allen Taylor........

Baboquivari- Elk Horn Fire Effect?
coueshunter replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Doug, it should not really affect this years hunts. I assume the fire is not super hot, and with the monsoon rains, that burn area will have alot of deer feeding in it. When the warm fire occured on the Kaibab, the deer were back into the fire area when some spots were still smoking. This should provide short term and long term benefits...............Allen......... -

The AZ Deer Association really needs some people to step up and donate some time. They need volunteers for the board, volunteers for habitat projects, fundraising projects like the banquet, just volunteers to help with all the functions the ADA serves for wildlife. Alot of the guys who have done this for years are just getting worn out. New blood like Keith Gaines, Amanda and others here that give their time is really in need. This is your chance to speak up and help AZ wildlife. Please email me, Keith or Amanda to volunteer. Come to the next board meeting....................Thanks...........Allen Taylor.........

I would be as quiet as possible, bugle only to locate then close the gap. Cow call to get interest, but alot of bugling many times sends the big bulls off with their cows. Big bulls are not really wanting to fight, they want to breed, so locate them either by just hearing their bugle or from a response to your bugle then sneak in. The more noise you make you give away your position..........Allen.........
