    I drew 12A west 10/24-11/02!!! Scouting Services?

you better confirm whether it is for East or Westside.
  2. Wdenike and others. you guys Getting involved is our only hope. Getting informed and either leading a group or assiting in efforts to prevent things like this wolf issue is how hunters can save your lands and maintain control. The federal gov is so huge and there are so many special lobbyists, that our collective voices can only be heard if we band together. All the Arizona conservation groups have joined together to fight with AZGFD against the federal government. Volunteer with any of our local conservation groups to help the cause in Arizona. It is not enough to just post your thoughts on CW or monstermuleys, try and get involved, your time will be very much appreciated by these groups and your grandchildren. Allen Taylor.

    New To The Forum

    welcome. Allen.
  5. I have personally hunted with Duwane on the Kaibab for the past 10 years. I used his service when I drew tags in 2010, 2011 & 2012. The 2012 hunt my oldest son Travis had a tag as well. There are pictures here on CW of these hunts. These were all west side late hunts. I have learned all I know about the Kaibab from him and cannot speak higher of his capabilities. He consistently kills big bucks up there. In 2012 there were not alot of people that killed big bucks, you didnt see alot of stories in the big name magazines because the deer were so spread out, you had to really know the unit to find where they were. His camp that year had 3 bucks at 190 then a few a bit smaller. I think that was impressive. It sure is worth a call to see what advice/guidance he can give and see what he charges for a map service. You may save alot of money in gas and learn some things. Allen Taylor.

Duwane Adams has a map service that really helps and saves you a ton of gas money. Give him a call at 520-385-4995. He has guided the Kaibab for years and really knows the area. The early hunt is tougher to know what will be going on, because most likely we wont have weather. Last couple of years have been different, so you kinda need to see what is going on with the weather the closer to the hunt we get. As an example, in 2012 we shot bucks on top and on bottom during the late hunt. The deer were spread out all over.

    my 1st Bull

congratulations. The memories on that hunt are worth way more than how big a bull you shot. The big bulls will come. Way to get it done in a short period of time. Allen Taylor
  12. At this point, the game department is trying to upgrade their systems to be more in "tune" with all of us. They have come up with some ideas that are "Good" & "Bad" as defined by us the sportsmen. If we dont go to the public meetings and provide input, then we cant modify/change/improve the process. There were a total of 3 non-affiliated people at the meeting last night. We need more people to get out of their chairs and attend meetings to get the things done you want done. 1. One main point that I am almost positive the AZGFD will fix is that when a tag is surrendered, it will go to the "next person in-line". This would be fair and fall under the guidelines of "The North American model of Wildlife Conservation". AZGFD is working on getting a customer portal system in place, and their timeline is quick, so any and all input from the public is very important. There is another public meeting at the Basspro store I believe on July 8th. Flatlander posted this info. Please Please Please attend if you want to make sure that this new upgrade includes what you are looking for. Allen Taylor
  13. AZelkhunter, great response. I am ashamed of how uninformed we as hunters are sometimes yet how we bitch. I really am curious to see how many people show up next tuesday night for the presentation at the Mesa location. The game department has problems but it also is trying to reach out to us hunters and do stuff that we want. The problem is hardly anybody shows up at meetings to express their thoughts. Thanks for your response. Allen Taylor
  14. From what I understand, this is just AZGFD trying to make their website and service offerings more user friendly etc. There is no "hidden agenda", there is no monsterous fee increases. There is no "set aside for guides/rich people", just an idea to make individual/customizeable pages for each customers. Hopefully alot of people come to the July 1st meeting. Allen.
  15. There is a meeting coming up next tuesday July 1st at 6:00 at the Mesa AZGFD office. Sportsmens constituent Group is hosting Scott Lavin who will present the topic. I invite you to attend and ask your questions/express your views. Allen Taylor.

    AZGFD; May 21 Open Forum

This is really something I applaud AZGFD for doing. They are reaching out and letting all of us hear what they are doing and also for us to bring up complaints about anything as well as suggestions of improving stuff. This is a great time for all of us to ask questions about the wolf situation, tag numbers for elk/deer etc.... its an open forum. Last forum there was only about 6 people showed up not from a wildlife org. So hopefully this one, lots of people will be there. Allen Taylor.

    G&F wolf release news

The group's have all agreed that we Arizona people want to manage the wolves instead of letting the federal government come in with 1000-1500 wolves managed under a federal plan. The alternate plan put together provides 300 wolves between Arizona and new Mexico. We already have 70-80 wolves so the extra is 220. All of us would like zero wolves but the Feds want wolves so if we don't push to control/manage the wolves then we are screwed like Wyoming and Montana. None of the group's have tried to keep this secret, get involved in a group. Join at least as a committee member and lend a hand trying to keep the Feds out of Arizona. Arizona elk society is at the forefront of this issue because they have the biggest food source for the wolves. Steve Clark has been fighting this wolf issue for years. Sign up and educate yourself on the wolf issue, jaguar issue, travel management issue etc... there really are tremendous ways that volunteers from coueswhitetail could help the fight. Allen Taylor

    unit 27 early rifle

I would talk with Duwane Adams also. He has guided that unit for 30 years and will be hunting it during bow season, so he will know where the monsters are at. Allen Taylor

    unit 1

Who was lucky like my son and I? We drew unit 1 and booked Duwane Adams. He always kills big bulls in 1 & 27. I used him in 2011. Let me know what you got. Thanks Allen Taylor

Devil, there are reservation tags you could buy so you don't pay the gas cost to drive out of state. You can still chase bulls in AZ. Shoot me a email. I am pumped for this hunt. Cant wait to see my sons face when he gets his big bull. Allen.
