Andy Tobin called me about 1 hour ago. Very good phone call, nice guy that took the time. He appreciated the call. We all need to call these people throughout this week to try and keep on top of this thing. The more awareness these guys have, the better they will be able to watch for it in a "Striker".............Allen......... -

Stephanie, I would suggest you go to any outdoor group meeting this week and give a presentation. As an example, I believe I will be speaking at AZ predators meeting thursday night. If there are no public meetings, maybe plan on making a you-tube video in OPPOSITION to HB2072 and sending it out. The video needs to be succinct/factual/directed at regular sportsmen. Chef & I talked about doing this yesterday, and just havent hooked up. Thursday night will be the end of the legislative situation where HB2072 could go to committee, so we must stay vigilant. Make sure and call Sylvia Allens office and ask these same questions about "what else can I do?". She directed me yesterday to call on Steve Pierce (602) 926-5172 and Andy Tobin (602) 926-5172..Both of these guys have the ability to block the bill from being heard. If we get in contact with them, flood them with emails/phone calls, then maybe we can get them to take our position..............I personally think getting in with these two guys today would be the most productive time spent this week...........Allen Taylor.....480-258-3726 cell........... -

UPDATE: After hours of emails and phone calls, here are my results: NO NEW GREEN LEGISLATOR'S...... all the below offices/legislators took the easy way out. No position statements. Too busy...what a crock...my interests are not important to them, but they sure want me to vote for them....we need to overwhelm them with phone calls. Force them to read the bill and make a stand...........Allen Taylor.......... Rich Crandall----602-926-3020----NO Position on HB2072...........email... rcrandall@azleg.gov Justin Olson----602-926-5288----NO Position on HB2072......email....jolson@azleg.gov Justin Pierce----602-926-5495---NO Position on HB2072......email...jpierce@azleg.gov Jeff Flake......480-833-0092----No Position on HB2072 -

I have been on the phone most of the day as well. I have spoken to Jeff Flakes office a couple times, Justin Olson's office, Justin Pierce's office, Rich Crandall's office. Get in touch with all your legislatures now while we still have time. Overflow them with opposition to HB2072................Allen Taylor.......... -

ADA and 2072?
coueshunter replied to 40-year-AZ-hunter's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
by the time there is a survey, the legislature will be done....bill will fail or pass without Ada hearing our voice.....john kolezar, you. are not serving your members in an acceptable fashion. I am not attacking, but rather pointing out an obvious situation. this member survey should have been done by now. I have performed many many surveys for business and would be happy to perform this one. get me a member list this weekend and I will personally contact all 300 to 400 members. you can call me or email me....480...258...3726......allen Taylor...... -

I believe 1 of the key points of hb2072. was the qualified org to get the tags had to have a certain number of AZ groups affiliated with them. azsfw set the language of the bill. anyway, if more groups had backed away their affiliation, then azsfwc would not have qualified. I think there has been alot of behind the scenes politic talking with the member groups so they don't back away. I think the groups did not poll their members because that would force them to agree with their members and oppose azsfw. I personally have not received a letter or email from Ada as promised, asking about my position on hb2072. john kolezar Ada president told all people assembled at bass pro shop...Ada meeting...that the member survey would come out immediately.....still have not seen it......allen Taylor........... -

I see "getting involved" as one of the major problems facing hunters. More people need to get involved with conservation orgs, helping junior hunts/camps, volunteering for clean ups/water projects etc....get involved wherever you can within the constraints that job/family allow. We do need to JOIN TOGETHER, all of us somehow some way to present somewhat of a strong front against the issues facing the future of hunting/outdoor recreation in this state and the USA. I think the websites like CW & others provide a format for COMMUNICATION that helps allow the general public to stay in touch with issues that are important. I also think there are way way more lurkers/observers and average joe hunters that are on internets than what people realize. That being said, this website has really helped in getting the attention of people. Take the time today/tomorrow to get involved in any way you can.............thanks..........Allen Taylor............ -

I was at the Commission meeting this morning. I did not see Suzanne Gilstrap nor did she speak about HB2072. George Reiners-YVRGC spoke, Steve Clark spoke, Bruce Johnson, Terry Herndon & I all spoke against HB2072. Not one person spoke in favor of the bill. I thought it was a good/informative meeting and hopefully everyone else did as well.........Allen Taylor.......... -

Taken from post #104 http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=30026&st=90 Posted 24 January 2012 - 06:13 PM Coues Whitetail Forum Members My name is Mark Bool, I am a former President of the ADA and still active with the organization. I am writing to tell my side of why the ADA would not have supported HB 2072. Shortly before the legislation was introduced, during a fundraising meeting this subject came up. We were only given a very rough concept of what the bill might have in it. It immediately raised concerns from virtually all of us at the meeting. Many very good questions were talked over and I can say I do not believe one of us would have supported the legislation. As has already been stated the ADA never did take a vote on this issue. In fact we did not even have a board meeting during the explosion of HB 2072. It was dropped on a Friday and pulled early the following week. We never voted because it was pulled off the table and we were told it would not be reintroduced. For the ADA the issue was a moot point. We were never given the courtesy of seeing the legislation before it was dropped and obviously never gave any input. This is wrong, flat wrong, and something you do not do to someone who is supposed to be your partner. What is sad is that AZSFW is the type of organization that sportsmen need, and now they have damaged themselves, perhaps irreparably. The ADA had contributed significant funds to aid AZSFW. While not nearly as much as AES or ADBSS, it was still a lot of money to the ADA. We felt we had received solid value for our contributions. The Commission Recommendation Board, millions of dollars for habitat work, and ten percent cap on non-resident hunters are just some of the benefits all sportsmen received. Those who are talking about supporting Daniel Patterson by repealing the Commission Recommendation Board need to be very careful about what you are advocating. Sandy Bahr and Stephanie Nichols Young are loving this discussion. AZSFW had neutered them, now who will be there to speak of for wildlife and sportsmen? This is a sad time for all of those who love hunting, fishing, and wildlife. As many of you know I am not a regular on this forum. Like it or not, I thought you deserved an answer! This is a one time post for me. In closing, I encourage everyone to come to an ADA Board meeting. Bring your thoughts, make your voice heard, and help shape policy. The organization is ALWAYS looking for volunteers that have a genuine passion for wildlife conservation. Thanks, Mark
