Great pictures & Great hunt !! 👍👍

As mentioned before a headspace gauge should be helpful. Wilson case gage also if made for 270 wsm. Measure the neck OD of your reloads and factory ammo. If you know anyone with a set up for 270 wsm have them size some cases for you and check them.

Mark two or three with a sharpie, Put them in the tube or magazine and fire a handful of rounds with them in there. Run them in and out of the chamber A few times Fairly hard. Measure coal To see if the bullets moved.

Aim 1/4" low & 1/2" in to the wind just to tell your mind you have compensated.....congrats on the deer !

All great ideas. For 209 primers, with some recoil pads you can put a few in the "vents" in either side. Don't forget to put a couple in your pocket, pack, bino case etc.

Understood about the suppressor, but it wouldn't hurt to try one or two just to try to isolate the problem. Maybe concentrate on the 80 grain bullets since that chamber is throated for heavier bullets. Check your case length and maybe bump the shoulder back four or five thousandths just to try to get to a baseline. Generally a longer bullet jump has less pressure, that's why the 556 NATO chamber will handle the hotter 556 ammo because it has a longer throat than the wilde chamber or the 223 chamber. I don't know much about buffer weight and gas pressures affecting that.

Make sure your overall length is to the book and not too long. If you are crimping, try a couple without a crimp and single feed them by hand to make sure the bullet doesn't move. Maybe also try it without the suppressor.

Leupold 2.5 - 8 x 36 or 3 - 9 x 40, lightweight quality scopes, AR'S wind up getting heavy in a hurry. Lap the rings and use an inch pound driver to torque to specs.

COAL and OAL question 30-30

Very nice offer to set your dies up for you, you should take him up on it if you are able to. That's good that you are being cautious as you learn to reload and I think it's good as you learn to go by the book. You should trim your cases to "square up" the case mouth but don't trim them too short if there is not excess brass to trim. Also, whether you trim or not, deburr/chamfer the inside and outside of the case mouth as that will help with bullet seating. Another good tool to have if you don't have one, is a cartridge headspace gauge, generally with a bolt gun you want to bump the shoulder back approximately .002-.003, with semi autos and lever guns you probably want to go .006 or so. -
I saw about 10 of them at Cabela's about an hour and a half ago. Right at $65.

Good seller, thanks for the bullets!

I like the two stage triggers on AR'S also. I'm not familiar with those other triggers but it sounds like you would be happy with an adjustable two stage trigger. I think the ones that come with the trigger pins are also the best ones.
-
Great offer from Crazymonkey. Since you are not happy with the Timney trigger, spend the extra money and get a great adjustable trigger that you can use the rest of your life. The non-adjustable triggers make lots of claims that may or may not be true. Geissele high speed national match trigger.

Was this the buffalo incident everone was talking about
Azdiy replied to couesdeerhntr's topic in Buffalo Hunting
I agree, I think I would make it a little easier on myself and instead of putting 500 small bricks in my pack I would just get a pound of table salt and grab a teaspoon out of the kitchen and make it easier. There are lots of gray areas in this issue. I think if I were in that situation I would video the person wanting to have a discussion with me and ask them to please leave because I was hunting and if they didn't I think it would then be time to let an Leo make a decision based on the video. -

It is public land. I have seen businesses and individuals try to " take over " multiple tanks in areas they want to hunt and often times will drag a few limbs and branches and put a note in there with their intentions and call it "their" blind. I don't see a big difference with salts either. If somebody chooses to spend time and money in an effort to make a setup on public land they need to remember that it is public land. -
I'm guessing there would be no fee just like the raffle and auction tags. I wouldn't know because I've never won the raffle tag or bid on an auction tag.... The way I read it, there would be a $13 fee for each of the six hunts for residents and 15 for nr.

My buddy saw this buck about a week or so ago. His left side looks pretty good but I can't tell on his right.
-
I don't know if anybody is keeping tabs on him but I'm sure other people have seen him. Looks like he has a long beam and tines. Maybe it's the Sun that makes them look longer. Assuming his right side matches and he has average spread and brow times I will guess him at 180. Anybody else care to guess?

It sounds like you're really trying to dial that rifle in which is a good thing. Personally I would be a little concerned about dialing in with the magneto speed that hangs on the end of your barrel.

Thank you for the quick response, I'm in the West valley but using a different bullet.glws

Where do you live? Thinking about a possible face-to-face transaction.

Try advantage pawn in chandler. It's a little bit of a long shot but probably worth a phone call. He had a lot of magazines a while back.
