The state site is awful at best. Way to slow. Try this one. I think you will find it much better. http://www.geocommunicator.gov/blmMap/Map.jsp?MAP=LAND I don't see how to determine ownership with this sites data. Probably a keyboard chair interface issue, but help me out please. The color code in the box at the right under the "layers" tab tells you the ownership. I noticed that there is some registration errors between the land ownership pattern and the legal boundaries so you need to pay attention to the legal lines to determine where the private and public lands are. We heard that Geocommunicator was going to go away within a year.

Looks like one of the nasty ones (bark scorpion, Centroides) with the side curling tail.

I checked the fire info website and could not find anything recent, just a couple of small controlled burns that should be out by now.

Thanks guys, I had a good dinner with my son and made plans to take him out dove hunting this weekend. It doesn't get any better than that.

I can verify that the author of the PDF knows what she is talking about, I was working with her when we ran into them. I do not know if you can get it any more, but I used to use Calidryl lotion. It is a combination of calamine lotion and benedryl to relieve the itching.

Sir, if you can tell that elk is limping from those photos, I want you on my hunting team!! +1 TJ +1 LOL!! I see what he is referring too, but I wouldn't be sure it was really limping based on that pic. He does look thin though. If you have been around horses much and watched them when they limp, the head goes lower in relation to the shoulders at the time that the sore leg comes off the ground. that is how I was taught to tell which leg needed to be looked at to find out why it is limping.

He does look thin compared to some of the other pictures that have been posted lately. It also looks like he is limping on his right hind leg, which if it is injured would cause the deformed left antler.

It has been hanging just to the south of the entrance for about 2 months. You can even go upstairs to the tent section which is above it and look down on it from the side and above.

+ 1 to what Lark said about the crock pot. I just made up a large batch last weekend and then rolled up about 2 dozen green chili burros and individually wrapped them with aluminum foil and threw them in the freezer. I just grab one out in the morning and throw it in my lunch box and it is thawed for lunch.

You can not drive to the "Powers base camp" otherwise known as Powers garden. It is in the middle of the wilderness and if you are caught driving in there, you just might have to pack your truck out in pieces on your back. You can only drive to the trail-head at the south end of rattlesnake mesa.

Looks like that shooter only fired 3 rounds, someone else was also shooting. You can hear him rack the shotgun 3 times but there is not a boom after the last one.

Are you related to former President Jimmy Carter? He had one that was walking on water that tried to attack him in a boat when he was fishing.

Looks like a small corral that was put up by recreationist (hunters or campers with horses).

No problem with access in unit 2b, most of it is state trust land. There is some private parcels scattered about that are posted, but there is usually a road around them.

Thanks again Jim and Sue for the hospitality! Your collection just keeps getting better every year, and so does the food. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

I had one of those " I better start thinking about snake gaiters" moment last week when I walked right by a tiger rattler and did not see or hear it. The 2 people behind me pointed it out to me. Just glad it decided I was to big to eat.

Early Nov 36C for me and hunting partner. Hopefully it will be cooler than last year.

I killed my first white tail in there in 1977, but have not hunted it since the early 80's. It is good habitat and the FS has been doing a lot of work in there thinning out the brush and putting in more waters. Just put in some time scouting and you will find them.

I had this discussion with a Wildlife Manager friend of mine several months ago. Is it legal for me to trap them? Yes, trapping regulations only apply to furbearers and predators, only tree squirrels are small game, not ground squirrels Can I use a steel jaw trap? No, prohibited by R12-4-304-E(1) Do I have to catch and release? No Do I have to have a trapping license? No Hope this helps.

I plan on being there! It is always great food and great company. -

1) put a good scope on it 2) put a lot of different brands and weights of bullets downrange to find what it likes best. 3) if it will shoot a pie plate size group with the best shooting bullets..."IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT" PS I did put a McMillan fiberglass stock on my 700ADL 30 years ago and it still shoots better than I can!

You can get a card reader at Radio Shack (mine reads 51 different cards) for about $20.00 and can drag and drop the files from the computer onto the card, then put it into the GPS. The reader also works for viewing the cards from trail cameras and regular digital cameras as well.
