Very well stated reply to the questions. Thank You for the update. -
You might check this out, it is sponsored by Amanda on this site. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/womens_javelina_hunt_2011.htm

Good points Bill. Now I am going to have to find my book "The Rocks Begin to Speak" and see if there is any elk or javalina petroglyphs mentioned in it. There may have been some type of taboo about making rock art about animals with nipples that stink on their backs.
-
Bill. Archaeologist that I have talked to have said that javalina did not move into the state until about the time the Spanish came in and that they do not find their bones in the Indian village trash piles. I know they didnot show up around Prescott until the 1960's and now they are at the south rim of the Grand Canyon.

Now Casey will have to rename his rifle "Hairless Raccoon".

"Special thanks to Courtney Shanley of AZGF, Kevin O'Connell, State Chairman of Ducks Unlimited, and Tom Slaughter, President of AZ Outdoor Sports. Kevin is the ultimate guide." +10 It was a pleasure to meet you and Daniel at the camp and share the blind on morning with your son. We will see you guys down there next year. -
Congratulation on a great trophy! I don't think I have ever seen one that big out there.
-
Will Do. We will be in a red dodge Dakota
-
I will be there with my son too, his 20 and my 12 Ga are both modified choke.
-
I think the other book is "The Evaders" by Darvil McBride. If you can find it, the coroners inquest makes for some good reading about it as well.
-
Saw a tan Toyota P.U. at the red rock feed yard about 11:20 this morning. who is it? I was the red dodge on Sasco Rd.
-
Rembrandt, I think you have your agencies mixed up. "This is a lot like BLM lands being off limits without authorization, and a hunting liscense is authorization." BLM land is open, it is State Trust land that you need a permit ( hunting license) for.
-
Congratulations on getting the new calendar out. Once again you astound us with your photographic talents! Now I need to go order some for Christmas gifts.
-
Scottyboy If you are on BLM land, you can get up to 125 pounds without a permit, just cant get it from the monument or national conservation area lands. On State lands, it is illegal to take anything without a permit. PM me if you would like more information about where you can get some rock.

Duck Season Thus Far?
NRS replied to elkster9's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I have been looking for them on all the stock tanks I go by, but have not seen any yet. Closest I came to it was a snipe during deer season. -
Somebody signed in on the hunter check-in on the King Anvil Ranch today that they were going lion hunting. At least somebody is giving it a try out there. I did not see any lions or lion sign when I was out there this week, and the bucks made their escape today before we could get close enough for a shot.
-
I will be there tomorrow with my son! It is close to Tucson so it makes a great day trip to work on the project and sleep in your own bed at night.

If you are using Windows, go to Start, Accessories, Paint. Open it in Paint and go to the stretch/skew tab and open it. Change the size from 100 % to about 30% in both of the boxes and hit "save as" and change the name. It will then be small enough to upload.

ARCHERY mule deer help in Arizona for a non res
NRS replied to JimmyHat's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
If the border traffic bothers you, look at any of the southern units that are north of the I-10/I-8 line. -
You are probably talking about Jackson's Cabin on the south end of the Galiuro Mountains. you go through he Muleshoe ranch and go north to the edge of the Coronado forest.

I got this in an e-mail today, HUNTERS WITH VALID LICENSES AND TAGS WILL BE ALLOWED IN after registering. I changed out any personal information that was in it. If you have a tag in the area, I would suggest that you contact the local WM to get updated on the situation. All, You have all been included on this email to help spread the word to our constituents, to minimize conflicts, that the Whittaker Ranch road will be locked on November 1st to public access. I received a message from the owner today informing me that we he will place color coded locks on the gate and will require people to pre-register with him via email or phone 48 hours in advance to enter. He informed me that he will only allow those with valid hunting licenses and tags to enter and will not allow any recreational use or OHV use. The owner would like to see greater accountability for those using the area. For those of you who do not know, the Whittaker Ranch road provides the ONLY access to the northwest rim of Aravaipa Canyon in game management unit 31 from Horse Camp Canyon west including Brandenburg Mountain. This road is heavily used by desert bighorn sheep hunters and others to access the area. In the last few years, a couple of Commission tag holders for bighorn sheep have harvested rams in Aravaipa and on Brandenburg. This road is also noted as the primary public access route in the BLM’s draft Aravaipa Wilderness Management plan. This road gets approximately 250 users per year.
