Now don't be confusing the Great and Almighty Jackalope with our favorite deer that we hunt, that is disrespectful to both.

I do not know if they are available for free anywhere, but the BLM does have that shape file. not sure if they got it from G&F or not.

left over tags draw? when do we know results?
NRS replied to vegasjeep's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
sounds like 36c Nov 6 was the first choice for the discriminating second chance hunter. I got it on the first draw, might have to have a little get together if anybody is going to camp down there and not just commute every day. -
It surprises me that they can chew it all up without leaving claw or tooth marks. That exposed part of the tree was soft and would take marks easily, yet I couldn't find anything that looked like claw or tooth marks. Do you normally not see marks in the trees you find? Amanda Normally the only thing that you can see when they are fresh is where they use their front teeth to scrape the cambium off and eat it. I never really looked for teeth marks on the bark portion. You can also find bear scat in the area with the cambium in it. the picture looks like there was a lot of sap in the bare area that could be masking the teeth marks.
-
The tree was chewed by a bear eating the cambium layer. I have seen it many times on the Grahams and learned about it from Tom Waddel who studied bears up there for 10 years. I have seen where they have also did that to junipers, but their favorites seem to be spruce and fir trees.

It could also be that the ear was tranquilized with drugs and was not fit for consumption by man nor beast. They still should have disposed of it in a more discreet location.

Strictly on the technical level, if it is on federal land and is left for more than 14 days, it is considered abandoned property.

No, you have to avoid the northern units because that is where they have their pot farms Also stay away from the rocky mountain sheep units, that is where GH is trying to draw a tag.

Since Lark is not here today, GET A .270 and do not worry about kick, expensive bullets, throat erosion, or shooting out barrels. and yes, I have used mine to kill elk.
-
I got one just like that from Wally world last year for $119.00 on sale. You might check them out too.
-
I helped a friend on the first sheep hunt in that unit, one word of advice is to learn to shoot straight down and at extremely steep angles down. As with any sheep hunt, good optics with a bunch of friends that have them and know how to use them are important to a successful hunt, especially when you are trying to hump one out of the Grand Canyon.

sounds like somebody transposed some numbers, as far as hunts go, you may have ended up with a better tag than you wanted.

Hunting partner and I drew 36c Nov 6-12 tags

I was at that tank a couple of weeks ago and remembered the distinctive paint job on the pad. I am the wildlife biologist for that area for the BLM.

We saw one while javalina hunting one year and I called him by making little squeaking sounds with my lips. When he got about 5 yards from 3 of us standing still, he looked up and his eyes got as big as Scottyboy's avatar and he turned around and ran across a canyon and straight up a cliff.

Are there two different designs shown? And is that second camera on the water with the lion killed buck under the tree you put your camera on??
-
The lady at G&F is probably hoping that it will be tomorrow so she will not have to answer the phone with everybody asking when the results will be out.
-
Its in unit 34b empire mountains. It is now called the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area.
-
I think it is about time to start the guessing on when the results will be posted by the G&F. I will start it with a guess of July 17 at 2:37 PM.

maybe N Korea hit them with a denial of service attack just to show the U.S. how tough they are.
-
No wonder you know where to put your camera, you got all the critters radio collared so you know where they like to walk.

"Well they need a spell check on this forum" Everybody has one, it is called stopping to proofread your work before you hit the Add Reply key.

I am always looking at and reading stickers that people have on their vehicles. It actually surprised me when I realized what that little small sticker said. Did you come down to get out of the heat?? I was the little red dodge Dakota that passed you about Campbell ave.
-
Saw a white dodge ram with white shell and a small sticker on Ina/Skyline about 2:15 today, east bound Tucson of course.

I worked on a FS fire crew that lived in one of the cabins on the west side of Greens Peak in the summer of '78. I still love to go back up there and cruise around the back roads at dawn and look at the elk and turkeys.
