With over 7000 posts to my 34 it seems you've done much more talking than I have. I never said I've killed many - or any big bucks. I don't use cameras or bait to find deer. I don't use deer to prove how good I am. I don't shoot baby deer. I don't take " maybe" shots. I have the same box of ammo I bought 10 years ago with 10 rounds left. I put in plenty of work to hit what I aim at. I know my deer rifle. The rest are just toys. My .50 is my big toy. I hunt on the same mtns, mostly on my property, and shoot one round at a deer I know I can kill. I give half the meat away. And I don't think all that much of myself. But I do call it as I see it. And now I see I have to move on. I'm also waiting on word about where to go. I hope to go back east and help for a few weeks. My job/profession allows me freedom to do what I want. " don't get hung up on scores. Get hung up on hunting" lark Where is he anyway? I always shoot my rifles with the ammo in which I intend to hunt with before I even hit the hills to verify it is still dead on. (At least three rounds). So how you still have ten rounds left is amazing. Not to mention that ten year old ammo can't possibly be the same after ten years as it was on day one. Just my two cents.

I was able to shoot this buck Saturday morning at 338 yards with my 338 Edge. Had a great time cant wait to do it again.

The deer was dead before it hit the ground. The lungs were liquid. No serious damage to cape.

Here is the buck I was able to harvest this year. I hunted him for 4 days with my dad and was able to take him on Monday at 703 yards. Cant wait to do it again someday. It was very difficult to get close to him as he was in the wide open flats and the doe he was with was affraid of her own shadow.

The rifle is a custom built 338 edge built of a savage action. I'm shooting a 300 grain berger with 91 grains of H1000. It will shoot a half inch or less at 100 yards.

I don't feel bad for the packers one bit. These players are professionals and should know what to do in certain situations. If he would have just knocked the ball down the game would have been over.

Well I finally drew a rifle tag for unit 10. I have never stepped foot in the unit. I plan on scouting every weekend I get the chance as well as the whole first week before the hunt starts. I was just wondering what is the best way to travel, throughout the unit. I have a jeep or ATV's. I have heard that private property owners are not very fond of ATV's but I'm sure that's because of the people that take them off the beaten path. Any advice on where to start or how to travel would be appreciated. Thanks. Mike

I went to sportsmans and tried there slc's in several of these cases. Each one was a little different in size. Out of the five or so I tried one of them fit like a glove and I have never had a problem with it. They go in and out just fine.

I bought a pair of swaro slc's from buster a year or so ago and they came exactly as advertised.
