**** SOLD--THANKS! **** FS: FN Winchester M70 Featherweight 308
ruppart posted a topic in Classified Ads
This is one of the new M70s from FN/Winchester, purchased new (by me) a little under a year ago. Great rifle with a nice trigger and pretty wood stock (which is glass bedded from the factory). Used this on a couple of hunts, and really like the overall weight, etc. However, being a stupidly tall guy, I just can't seem to get comfortable with the featherweight stock. Really like how it looks and the balance, but it just doesn't fit me. Shoots very well (sub-MOA) with Federal 150gr Fusion and hand loads of 165/168 Nosler BTs w/Varget. Shoots almost as good (about 1.2 to 1.5 MOA) with cheap winchester 147 ball ammo. Rifle has had about 300 rounds total through it (including a gentle break-in session when first purchased). Does have a few marks on the stock and trigger guard from where it was carried in the field. Also has a 1/4" spacer added to the recoil pad, which can be easily removed. Includes Leupold two-piece bases and double-dovetail rings (pictured) along with the original box. Asking $525 face-to-face in the West Phoenix area. Thanks! -
***ALL SOLD PF*** Beretta M9, Ruger 22/45 Lite, Nosler Custom 308 ammo
ruppart posted a topic in Classified Ads
***EVERYTHING SOLD. THANKS, FOLKS!*** Good morning! Got a few items I'm looking to clean out. First of all, I have a Beretta M9 9mm for sale. Got this to learn the platform and help some friends prepare for their military qualifiers with the M9. Gun shoots great, and has been absolutely 100% reliable with all ammo thrown at it. However, I found that I personally prefer a different platform. Now that my friends have finished their military quals, I've don't have a further need for this pistol. So she needs a good home. Total round count is a little shy of 1200. With the exception of normal wear marks on the barrel, it looks new (no rough handling or dropping, etc.). Includes original box, a very nice Blade-Tech kydex holster and magazine carrier (very easy to attach to a pack belt, etc.), along with 5 factory 15-round magazines. $465 face-to-face in the Phoenix area. Next up is a Ruger 22/45 Lite. Nice little gun, but I bought this for my kids and found out quickly that I prefer they use a 22 revolver as their practice pistol (and so do they). Has had less than a brick of ammo shot through it. Also has Williams fiber optic front and rear sights installed. Includes both factory magazines, original box, and original case. $285 face-to-face here in the Phoenix area. Last up on the list are two boxes of Nosler Custom Trophy Grade 308 ammunition. These are the 165gr Accubond loading listed at 2800 fps muzzle velocity. Got these late last year for my 308 out of desperation when I couldn't find any powder to load up my own rounds for an upcoming elk hunt. However, the next week I was able to finally find some powder, and ended up never shooting these. Has a reputation for being outstanding ammo with great brass, but I know I won't be shooting them now that I have an ample amount of powder and projectiles sitting around. Paid $37 a box for these at Sportsman's Warehouse. Both boxes can go to a new happy home for $55. -

$285. -
Used, but in like-new condition. Purchased earlier this year and mounted/used for a little while on my M70 308 (took a nice coues with it at 420, btw ). This is Leupold's newest model, and has the two long-range hold-over dots. Absolutely great scope for a light weight rifle. Light weight, very bright, good eye relief. $230 local in the West Phoenix area, or $230 + actual shipping.

Have over 5 pounds remaining of a 8-pound H335 keg. Been using it for my 223, but have found I prefer Varget. $85. Also have 2 boxes of 1,000 Winchester Large Rifle Primers. Bought them by mistake at Cabelas a few months back and have no use for them. $20 per 1,000. Thanks, and Happy Halloween!

Thought these were sold in a different thread where I was also selling arrows, but never heard back from the supposed buyer. So, here it goes again... I have 3 QAD Exodus 100gr broadheads and a single Shuttle-T 100gr broadhead. All have only been shot into a foam block, and are essentially new. These are great heads, but when I went to a heavier-spined (and hence heavier) arrow, I needed a heavier head for good flight. $25 + shipping, or face-to-face in west Phoenix. Will also consider trades for Montec G5 125gr. Thanks for looking!

Approx. 500 180gr FMJ .40/10mm bullet heads, from Montana Gold Bullet Company. $50 for local pick-up in West Phoenix area, or plus actual shipping. Approx. 400 pieces of Starline 10mm brass, once-fired, once reloaded. Brass is in great shape--tumbled and pretty, ready to decap and load. $40 for local pick-up in West Phoenix area, or plus actual shipping. Thanks!

Bullets are sold pending funds. Brass is still available if anyone's interested. Thanks, everyone!

FS: Gold Tip 7595 Hunter XT arrows, QAD Exodus 100gr Broadheads
ruppart posted a topic in Classified Ads
I have 10 black 7595 Hunter XT arrows (black), cut to 31" bare shaft length, fletched with 2" blazers with a right-hand offset. Arrows are in great shape, although a couple of the vanes have minor tares. Only selling because they turned out to be under spined for my bow as I increased the draw weight. Since my draw length is 33", there's plenty of shaft left for archers of more normal dimensions. $50 + shipping, or face-to-face if we can meet in the west Phoenix area. Also, I have 3 QAD Exodus 100gr broadheads and a single Shuttle-T 100gr broadhead. All have only been shot into a foam block, and are essentially new. These are great heads, but when I went to a heavier-spined (and hence heavier) arrow, I needed a heavier head for good flight. $25 + shipping, or face-to-face in west Phoenix. Thanks for looking! -
BTT. Happy Friday, everyone!

Rifle is a little over a year old, with about 200 rounds through it. Stainless action has been coated with matte black DuraCoat. Stock has been re-painted in coyote tan, with a 1/4" in spacer added (LOP is now 14"). Great rifle, not too light and not too heavy. Excellent trigger (set at a little under 4 lbs, very crisp). Typical smooth & reliable M70 action. Pictured at the bottom are two separate three-shot groups fired at the factory with factory ammo, with both groups hitting the 1-MOA mark. Includes the pictured Leupold two-piece double dovetail bases and rings, but NOT the scope. Includes the original box. Asking $825.

***SOLD. THANKS!*** FS: Glock 20 with night sights, 4 15-round magazines
ruppart posted a topic in Classified Ads
***SOLD TO visla-dog. THANKS!*** Gen3 Glock 20 (10mm) with 4 15-round recent-manufacture magazines. Has a little under 1,000 rounds through it. VERY accurate pistol with 180gr Hornady XTPs and Speer Gold Dots (among others). Night sights are Warne Tactical Carry 2-dot tritiums, great sights for fast target pick-up *and* precise aiming. This baby will make a great trail gun and/or hunting "back up" pistol. Includes the original box. Asking $500 for the package. If interested, I also have dies, lots of starline brass, 180gr FMJs, primers, etc. Can talk "package price" if there's a desire. -
Here's a thought, if you're interested. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/38760-fs-glock-20-with-night-sights-4-15-round-magazines/

Best choice for hunting/field sidearm
ruppart replied to apache12's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Having carried several different pistols in the field while scouting/hunting/hiking over the past 16 years, I definitely throw my vote with glock/xd/m&p crowd. I've carried several revolvers (4" 629, 5.5" Redhawk, 4" GP100, etc.), but found none of them were as comfortable by day's end (or week's end) as my Glock 17 or Glock 20. Plus, as stated by others, reloads were easier to carry and use if needed. Further, as many folks have stated, in AZ your biggest potential threat by far is from 2-legged critters. To me, the newer style of stricker-fired semi-autos is better suited to this task. Regardless of your choice in weapon (semi or revolver, caliber, etc.), I would suggest the following: 1.) Invest in a quality belt and quality holster from places like thewilderness (belts) and blade-tech or sidearmor (kydex holsters). Don't be the dumba** that spends hundreds on a handgun only to carry it in a cheap $20 holster/$5 belt, then complains because it's uncomfortable to carry. One of the biggest reasons we have handguns instead of rifles is because they're convient and comfortable to carry. Don't negate that advantage with cheap/crappy gear. As a bonus, many modern kydex holster makers (blade-tech being a good example) allow multiple attachment systems so they can go on your belt, pack belt, MOLLE attachments, whatever. 2.) Invest in some professional training. If you have a $1000 budget, spend $600 on a gun/holster/belt, then the other $400 on training (like a local 2-day course through Glendale Community College, as an example). Better yet, borrow a buddy's gun (in a model you're interested in) to take the class. Do that a couple of times with a couple different models, and you'll have a very good idea what you actually want to carry & use should you really have to use it. Plus, you'll have a better clue about what happens in a situation where you really have to use it... 3.) Practice with the weapon you decide on. A lot. Every time you think about buying a different gun, buy another 1K in ammo & use it up in the gun you have. Once you've put 5K or more through your gun, then figure out if you really want/need something else. 4.) Don't buy more gun than you can shoot. If you shoot better with a 9mm than a 40 or 45, buy it. Over the last 10 years especially, practical performance is virtually identical between these three common defensive rounds. That means the biggest factor will be how fast the user can employ his sidearm of choice accurately. -
Got this gun a little over a year ago for my kids, but they much prefer shooting 22 rifles or 22 revolvers. So, this one's going up for sale. It's only had about 200 rounds put through it, and is in excellent condition. Includes the original box, paper work, etc. $250 for anyone in the Phoenix area (face to face), or $250 + shipping to your FFL for anyone else. Send me a PM if you have any additional questions.

(NOTE: This is a repost from a earlier ad. Had a couple of folks state they wanted the scope, but then drop off the face of the earth. After a month of waiting, I don't think they're "coming back" This would make a great scope for a late bull hunt, if someone was in need). Scope is in good shape, with a few small scratches and a small ding. No discernable ring marks. Glass is perfect. Has spent it's life so far atop a R700 30-06. Only reason to sell is because I'm going a different direction with the rifle it's on (ie smaller!). Asking $375 local, or plus actual shipping if CONUS. If you're looking for a VX-III at a VX-II price, this is your chance!

FS: H4350 & R15 powder, small rifle primers, 223 brass
ruppart replied to ruppart's topic in Classified Ads
The H4350 is spoken for. Everything else is still up for grabs. -
Brass: Approx. 1000 rounds of once-fired 223 brass, mixed headstamp (FC, PMP, PMC, IMI, LC, etc.). Has been run through a tumbler to clean it up, and is mostly sorted. $40 if face-to-face, or will add actual shipping if someone wants it sent to them (it should all fit inside a USPS Priority flat rate box). Powders: I've got a couple containers of powder that I purchased originally to split with some coworkers/friends. However, that never *quite* happened, and now they're simply taking up room in my safe. These were purchased a little over two years ago, and have been in my (always air-conditioned) house ever since. Obviously I've loaded from each, and both powders are fine (just not something I'm going to use *that* much of...). So if you (and maybe some buddies) want to save a bunch on two common & useful powders, here's your chance! BTW, I'm in the West Valley area, and am fairly flexible with pickup times & places (Cabela's in the evenings usually works well, for instance). For obvious reasons of expense, I don't really want to ship this if someone's too far away. Thanks, and happy hunting! H4350, 8lb container, with 6+ pounds remaining: $70 R15, 5lb container, with 3+ pounds remaining: $30 Wolf small rifle primers, box of 1K, 600 remaining: $10

FS: Leupold VX-III 3.5-10x40mm, Matte, B&C reticle
ruppart replied to ruppart's topic in Classified Ads
Bryce, My apologies, I didn't see your question. I *thought* I'd set up my account to notify me if there was a reply, but apparently I screwed that up. To answer your questions--yes, it has a 1" tube. Age: About five years old. BTW, it's been back to Leupold this year for a "check up", and came home with a perfect bill of health (I do that periodically with all my optics, including binos). -
For what it's worth, I was able to fill my tag opening day in 20c hunting around Arrastre Creek (sp?) with a two-point southeast of Sourgrass Flats (east of Peeples Valley). However, I had to hike up in the hills a long ways to find any deer, and even then I didn't find a lot of them (about a dozen total, including 3-4 bucks, all small). Most of the deer I found were somewhat high, and feeding mostly on the north-facing sides of the hills with greener forage. However, I found sign off and on pretty much everywhere the brush was open enough for deer to move through. I ended up boning the deer and packing it out about a mile in rough terrain, so I wouldn't recommend this little area to the casual hunter (loose rocks, steep, and brushy. Reminds me a lot of coues hunting ). There were A LOT of people in the lower areas (Sourgrass Flats, and north towards the Wagoner road--all mentioned on the G&F webpage concerning 20c). But I didn't see anyone else going in as far as I did, at least not the first and second days. I feel your pastor's pain regarding "Private Property" signs. Seems like that's all you ever see in most of that region. I got drawn for the unit sort of by accident, and this was my first time setting foot in 20c. Interesting unit, but I was personally unable to find many deer, let alone any nice bucks. I had somewhat limited time to scout, and ended up restricting my scouting trips to the areas (high and low) east of highway 89. If anyone has better advice for where to go in the unit, I'm all ears. Good luck to you both!
