I used mine on a 21 day sheep hunt in Alberta last October and started to feel the same thing after about ten days of intense hiking. What i did was put some mole skin where the rubbing was and it never bothered me again. I know the mole skin might be just a temporary fix but give it a try.

I just bought one last week so hopefully it works out great. I will say that i have heard alot of positive things about the tent, but have also heard about the condensation build up. Some say with the new style on the Alaknak 2 that they have a new venting set up that helps with the build up. I will be able to give more in a couple weeks after our turkey hunt on the San Carlos.

Sweet! Now you can buy your buddy a "good" beer for telling you how great they are!!!

I have not looked at the Vortex but i do own the Swaro's and i love them. Also they have a great warranty, i knocked mine over in January and it chipped the eye piece. I sent them back and they charged me $75 to replace the glass, but they also exchanged every part on them for new parts so i pretty much have a brand new pair! You can't go wrong with Swarovski!!

I can get them in Black. Do you need it to be bigger than 30 inches for your toyhauler? Maybe measure an area and let me know, then just order one and include a note that you want it in black. If you can't include the note, just shoot me an email to remind me when you order it. And just an fyi for all, I can get them in most any color. White is the standard, but black, blue, red, etc are doable. Can't do camo....sorry. Thanks. Amanda Thanks i will measure an area and get it ordered!

Amanda, do you have any black ones? I would like to put one on my toyhauler but its white

Jim is a great guy! He has awesome products and is always willing to take the time and talk with you, and explain the differences in the products he sells so you can figure out what fits you best!

Great bull!! He looks awesome!

It should help the odds now that you have to upfront the fees. I know last year when they made you pay for sheep upfront the number of applications was cut in half!

Very nice video Amanda! Sorry for your loss! We had to put our 15 year old brittany spaniel down last week so i know how hard it is!

can you post some pics please?

I think a buck like that can show up in any of the units, its just being in the right place at the right time!

With hunting season finally winding down i'm finally getting a chance to post some of the hunts from this past season. My brother Scott and our friend Brad Smith were the lucky tag holders of a late season bull hunt here in Arizona. With the season coming up fast we were able to get up north for a few scouting trips and plenty of good bulls were located. Opening morning the plan was to hunt a group of bulls with at least 3 shooters. We split up with Scott coming with me and Brad going with our friend Steve to try and get shots at the bulls as they fed in the flat. As we were set up at the tree line waiting for it to get light enough to shoot, we could not believe our eyes as a truck came driving right through the middle of the flat sending all the bulls high tailing it for the trees! Talk about a couple of knuckleheads! Now it was on to plan B to try and locate another bull. When we arrived to the area and set up to glass I located a good bull right away. With little hesitation Scott quickly decided this was the bull for him. The bull was about a half mile away feeding on a steep ridge and we had to move quick to get to him before he went over the top. Within a half hour we were 230 yards away and set up for a perfect broadside shot. As Scott touched away the first shot it was perfect right behind the shoulder and the bull hunched up, with two more follow up shots Scott had a great 6x6 on the ground! What a first bull!!! Day 2 started off with two great bulls being spotted. As we sent Brad and Steve in to try a stalk something spooked the bulls. About that time I glassed up two different bulls moving in the thick trees at over a mile away. As they fed into an opening i could not believe my eyes as both bulls were huge! We quickly got Steve on the radio and explained to him where these bulls were and they started their stalk. As i kept my eye on the bulls they were getting into the thick trees where i figured they would bed for the day. After about an hour Steve, Brad and Scott were up on the ridge acrossed from the bulls but with the trees being so thick they just could not locate the bulls again. What a bummer as both bulls looked to be over 370! Day 3 we woke up to light snow on the ground. Brad and I decided to try a different approach and hike into the canyons from the top. As we got to our planned area to hunt it started snowing harder and and the fog rolled in making it extremely diffficult to glass! We decided to pull out and hope that the weather would clear up that afternoon. At noon we had 6 bulls cross the road in front of us as we left a friends camp. I think we were both in shock as they ran right through another hunters camp! I can only imagine how they felt when they got back to camp and saw that some bulls ran right through camp! Day 4 started with the weather looking better so we hiked into the canyons again. Right away i glassed up two nice bulls moving acrossed the canyon from us. We quickly moved down the ridge to try and get a little closer and at 440yards it was as close as were going to get from the bulls. With Brad using my 300wsm i was confident he could make the shot, so i dialed up the range on my Grey Bull scope. Brad had a hard time locating the bulls in the scope as the sun was coming over the ridge line right into our eyes. We decided not to attempt and with the bulls going over the ridge we decided to hike around the canyon and try to relocate the bulls. It took us about an hour to get up and around to where the bulls were last seen. As we slowly made our way into the thick draw i glassed up a good bull beddded in the thick trees. From our vantage point the bull was 200 yards from us but the bull was completely blocked by branches offering us no shot. We backed out and attempted trying a different angle at the bull with no luck. I finally found an opening that would give us a clear shooting lane but we would need the bull to stand so we could get a clear shot. I got Brad set up on the shooting sticks and told him i would try to get the bull to stand. If the bull got up and turned left we would have no shot, but if he went right we would have an opening, we had to take the chance! After a few cow calls and a chuckle the bull stood up and turned right. I whispered to Brad to take him and at the shot the bull dropped in his tracks!! I could not believe it as he had just a six inch window to shoot through, talk about an awesome shot! Brad was pumped as this too was his first elk ever! Congrats Scott and Brad on an awesome hunt! You guys hunted hard and were rewarded with two outstanding late season bulls!
