I work for the Park Service and live in Holbrook. I haven't been in town long and will check out Lonesome Pine. The few times I've went by it hasn't been open. I'll check it out in the morning and maybe Timber Mesa in the afternoon. Thanks for the help.

I'm looking at picking up a new bow and was wondering what the opinions are as far as good shops in NE AZ. There are a few locations in the White Mtns. and Flag. Not really set on one manufacturer, just want a good shop that does great set up and tuning.

Flash, you might want to get your facts straight before you start spouting off. GC has the most active fire use program in AZ. They also have one of the most active prescribed fire programs. There's a reason the Kaibab on the north rim has combined fire management with the park. Any fire that close to developed areas is not a great candidate for fire use, especially with the forecasted wind they recieved. I agree there needs to be more fire on the ground, but most fires in PJ just end up turning into a giant cheat grass patch that makes terrible wildlife habitat. Look at most of northern Nevada and around Caliente, it's hurt the deer, quail and most everything else.

My dad drew a 2C deer tag on his first try in New Mexico (lucky guy). I was wondering if anybody had any general info on that unit. We normally hunt DIY, but fire season is really picking up and I'm not going to have hardly any time to scout for him before the season. Any and all help is appreciated. Been a long time lurker, but decided to register so I could ask some questions of the experts.
