    Thru Bino pics???

hmm, not sure, i tried it for the first time a month ago when scouting, get your binoculars the clearest you can for yourself, then let your camera do the rest to adjust itself, if the picture on the lcd looks blurry, adjust your binoculars to where the camera is taking them clearly

  10. having some problems sighting in my rifle, im shooting a remington 710 30-06, and everything i've read seems to be more or less hateful towards them, haha, but i went out yesterday and today trying to sight it in for this fall. i picked up a box of remington core lokt 150 gr and a box of federal 180 gr, max something, the cheap one. i shot from about a 100 yards, couldnt get the core lokts to dial in, i shot the 180 gr federals and i got tighter patterns. they dropped a lot faster so i had to readjust my sights a bit, i was trying to get 3 inches high at 100 yards, at the end of the day, was about an inch high and 2 inches to the right at best, terrible. went out today, bought 3 boxes of the federal 150s this time, went back and forth left and right, finally got them aligned, but couldnt get them around 3 inches high, some would be low, some high, backed out to about 200 and they were scattered. im usually a pretty good shot and have no problems getting tighter groups on other guns i have shot. basically, im dumbfounded, can't get any constant pattern anywhere on the paper. just short of getting a new gun, idk what to do?

    trouble sighting in..

Devin the highest point on the arch of a rifle bullet sighted in at 25 yards is between 175 and 190 yards. So if you are 4 inches high at 100 and dead on at 300 I would suspect you might be as high as 5 to 6 inches at 200 yards. Once the bullet loses energy it drops like a rock after 300 yards. Yes even the flat shooting magnums. you might want to lower the 4" inch high groups at 100 to 3inches, but if you are hitting pie plates offhand at 300 maybe you should enter some shooting contests because that is pretty good. Bob you might be right, well the pie plate a 200 is only 6x6 inches and i aimed only 2 inches low and still hit it. but yes, i did hit the pie plate offhand at 300, the couple older gentlemen next to me and kinda looked at me like waiting to see if i was gunna even come close, hit it several times, both just kinda had a blank stare. haha. and one of them came and talked to me and offered for me to shoot his brand new 50 cal anti sniper rifle. that thing was sexy but kicked like a mule. i just went back to the ballistics calculator and did a zero at 300 and it gave me a reading at 4 inches high at 100. guess that kinda solves the mystery

    trouble sighting in..

dont mean to beat a dead horse but went out to the rio salado range today to shoot, my results are way different then what the ballistics calculator says on biggaminfo.com i was dead on at 25 yards, 4 inches high at 100 yards, and dead on again at 300. i assumed since 200 is between 100 and 300 i would be 2 inches high still, dont know if thats neccessarily correct but it worked. naturally you can only set up a target out there out to 100 yards, and at 200 and 300 its metal plates. either way i figured out what by gun shoots at up unil 300 yards, wish i coulda shot at 400 or 500. shot off hand at the 300 yard pie plate and naled it several times.

    Deer Camp

i just hope we dont have the same 35a hunt, or at least arent hunting around the same area. being a mile from where youre hunting doesnt mean you wont be camping where somebody else wanted to hunt around. nothing wrong with having fun, but the noise doesnt need to be excessive. already have to deal with the unpredictable patterns because of the illegals, and even more traffic when the temps cool down, plus the pressure from additional hunters and camps.

no, i do believe the law states you must be 21 to purchase a handgun or ammo for it through a retailer although, if it is a private sale, face to face, it does not apply. also, arizona is a 'right to open carry' state, meaning anybody 18 and over can openly carry a sidearm in public, certain places have restrictions though, for obvious reasons. AZ State Statue says.... 13-3111. Minors prohibited from carrying or possessing firearms; exceptions; seizure and forfeiture; penalties; classification A. Except as provided in subsection B, an unemancipated person who is under eighteen years of age and who is unaccompanied by a parent, grandparent or guardian, or a certified hunter safety instructor or certified firearms safety instructor acting with the consent of the unemancipated person's parent or guardian, shall not knowingly carry or possess on his person, within his immediate control, or in or on a means of transportation a firearm in any place that is open to the public or on any street or highway or on any private property except private property owned or leased by the minor or the minor's parent, grandparent or guardian. B. This section does not apply to a person who is fourteen, fifteen, sixteen or seventeen years of age and who is any of the following: 1. Engaged in lawful hunting or shooting events or marksmanship practice at established ranges or other areas where the discharge of a firearm is not prohibited. 2. Engaged in lawful transportation of an unloaded firearm for the purpose of lawful hunting. 3. Engaged in lawful transportation of an unloaded firearm between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. for the purpose of shooting events or marksmanship practice at established ranges or other areas where the discharge of a firearm is not prohibited. 4. Engaged in activities requiring the use of a firearm that are related to the production of crops, livestock, poultry, livestock products, poultry products, or ratites or in the production or storage of agricultural commodities. C. If the minor is not exempt under subsection B and is in possession of a firearm, a peace officer shall seize the firearm at the time the violation occurs. D. In addition to any other penalty provided by law, a person who violates subsection A shall be subject to the following penalties: 1. If adjudicated a delinquent juvenile for an offense involving an unloaded firearm, a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars, and the court may order the suspension or revocation of the person's driver license until the person reaches eighteen years of age. If the person does not have a driver license at the time of the adjudication, the court may direct that the department of transportation not issue a driver license to the person until the person reaches eighteen years of age. 2. If adjudicated a delinquent juvenile for an offense involving a loaded firearm, a fine of not more than five hundred dollars, and the court may order the suspension or revocation of the person's driver license until the person reaches eighteen years of age. If the person does not have a driver license at the time of the adjudication, the court may direct that the department of transportation not issue a driver license to the person until the person reaches eighteen years of age. 3. If adjudicated a delinquent juvenile for an offense involving a loaded or unloaded firearm, if the person possessed the firearm while the person was the driver or an occupant of a motor vehicle, a fine of not more than five hundred dollars and the court shall order the suspension or revocation of the person's driver license until the person reaches eighteen years of age. If the person does not have a driver license at the time of adjudication, the court shall direct that the department of transportation not issue a driver license to the person until the person reaches eighteen years of age. If the court finds that no other means of transportation is available, the driving privileges of the child may be restricted to travel between the child's home, school and place of employment during specified periods of time according to the child's school and employment schedule. E. Firearms seized pursuant to subsection C shall be held by the law enforcement agency responsible for the seizure until the charges have been adjudicated or disposed of otherwise or the person is convicted. Upon adjudication or conviction of a person for a violation of this section, the court shall order the firearm forfeited. However, the law enforcement agency shall return the firearm to the lawful owner if the identity of that person is known. F. If the court finds that the parent or guardian of a minor found responsible for violating this section knew or reasonably should have known of the minor's unlawful conduct and made no effort to prohibit it, the parent or guardian is jointly and severally responsible for any fine imposed pursuant to this section or for any civil actual damages resulting from the unlawful use of the firearm by the minor. G. This section is supplemental to any other law imposing a criminal penalty for the use or exhibition of a deadly weapon. A minor who violates this section may be prosecuted and adjudicated delinquent for any other criminal conduct involving the use or exhibition of the deadly weapon. H. A person who violates subsection A is guilty of a class 6 felony. a minor is somebody under the age of 18 though. didnt see anything in regards for persons 18-20
  19. when i was down south scouting this last week for my deer hunt i was carrying a glock in a belt holster for obvious reasons with illegals and smugglers. when i was up on the mountain glassing i heard a vehicle stop by where mine was parked but they were out of view, i assumed it was border patrol. no issue. after awhile i hiked back to the truck and drove down the road a bit just to glass from a different angle, border patrol drove by.. waived at me, no issue. as i was leaving at dark, 2 border patrol agents waited for me to leave, then haul butt down the mountain to get in behind me, i pulled over without them turning there lights on. right away (whom i assuming was the superior officer) told me to keep my hands where he could see them. he walked up to the truck, asked me what i was doing out here, politely told him i was deer scouting, he asked if he could search my truck! i said no sir you can't. this pissed him off a bit, he then asked me if i had any weapons in the car, i told him yes i did. this triggered him, he told me to get out of my truck and produce identification. then he asked about the glock case that was in the backseat (which i figured he had been that vehicle stop by my truck earlier and looked inside the windows). i told him it was mine and that i had been carrying it incase of a self defense situation. all the while being a complete butt, he drilled me about if he were to run the serial numbers would it come back stolen.. i told him no, go ahead. he took the offer and went back to his truck to do so. the other 2 bp agents were nice and talking about hunting with me while the other guy was flexing his nuts back at the truck running the numbers. he came back and told me i was lucky and then proceded to tell me that i may have been lucky that other bp guys are more relaxed when it comes to carrying a sidearm but that he isn't. he then stated that i was only 19 and not even legally able to carry a handgun. i told him, no sir you have to be 21 to have it concealed or buy ammo, but only 18 to open carry. he interupted me and told me to shut up and listen to him. then he went on about how i wasnt being legal because the gun was in the case in my truck when i was leaving? ( not loaded, nor stowed in the case with ammo) i was fuming by this point but bit my tongue. after he continued to show his superiorness to the other officers he said i could go. i wish i would have gotten his name, what a complete butt. you'd think they had better things to do then hassle two 19 year olds.

I understand what you are saying as far as the apprehension part because there had been a gun in the truck, but when we saw them coming, we pulled over, not waiting for them to turn on their lights, not something a drug runner would do. i guess i can only explain it so well and the attitude he was giving, one of those you had to be there things. and having a gun in the truck is not reasonable cause to search, they either have to see something that is in PLAIN view, or place us under arrest before they can search the vehicle without a warrant. but like others have stated, most all of the BP guys arereally friendly, just happened to run into a sour one this time
