Who doesn't wear camo when rifle hunting?
Apatkelley replied to ElSavior's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I wear it because most of the pants have lots of pockets and I have room to move in them. I also like that I can tie them around my boots and keep out grass and other itchy stuff Aaron -
How does it shoot? If it shoots well and you are satisfied with the group size you are getting I wouldn't touch it. I've had mixed results with bedding and adopted the idea that if it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm not sure about the screw only going in 2.5 turns. Good luck!! Aaron

I was hunting with my brother in 30A and we found a skull that looked human. The front of the skull was missing but the brain cavity was intact and was larger and round unlike any critter I'm familiar with. I gave it to the game and fish department and they never got back to me....maybe I was actually in unit 51

Looks like a great spot. I'll bet if you sit it enough you will have your chance. When you get em, post more pics. Most of the tanks around my place are so full that the water is up in the brushline. when they come in it's tough get a clear shot. -
My friend just got back from NZ. Check out the rack on this red stag!! It scored around 390 inches. I want to get over there someday and have a go at them. Chamois.zip

I helped a couple of guys on an October 36A hunt last year. We saw lots of trash and some huge trails left by the UDAs, but we also saw lots of deer and several good bucks. Both hunters were finished by 9:30 opening morning. I think the deer get used to seeing people all the time and for the most part, the UDAs leave them alone. It almost seems like the deer were not quite as spooky.

I haven't hunted deer with a handgun, but if I did, I would choose the same type of gun that you have. The T/C is great for hunting. What time of year is your hunt in 24B?

Excellent choice for anyone. I shoot a Remington 700 chambered in 7mm-08 and my wife shoots the Mod 7 youth in 7mm-08. So far, I'v shot two large mule deer bucks, 4 coues bucks, 1 antelope and one large cow elk with mine and my wife has taken 4 cow elk with hers. My 11year old daughter also killed her cow elk with one shot from the little 08. I had to shoot my antelope twice and my cow elk only because I made poor shots. My wife killed three of her elk with one shot each. I generally shoot a 120 sierra with 49 grains H380 for deer and antelope and a 145 speer grand slam for elk.

I live in on the border of unit 34A and 34B in Southern AZ. I am out just about every week and I have never had a problem. I do have to admit that I go back home every night and don't have to camp out.
