I would have to say that's one of best bucks I've seen pictures this year...He has it all. Now your addicted. My problem is that I've hunted these little deer for years and never even had a chance at a buck like that. Great job!!

After 5 long hot days of hunting I finally shot a deer. He's no monster but I had fun chasing him and his buddy for several days. I was alone on this hunt and I was finding the deer out in the flats. It was tough to find them once I dropped from my vantage point. After the third attempt in 2 and half days, I eventually got to within 60 yards of the two bucks I had been chasing. One of them ran up on a small hill at about 108 yards. I had been telling myself as I stalked them that I would shoot either one of them. It was after 5:00pm Wednesday evening and there was only one day left in the hunt. I made the shot and he was down. I would have tried for better field pictures but I only had my camera phone, and I had a 1.99 mile pack out to make so I didn't take too much time.

That's a super cool buck, I like em wide like that.

Nice buck!! I like unit 22, but there can be lots of hunters in some of the better known areas.

Is that a shed antler in the second picuture? It looks like there is an antler on the ground by the bull nearest the camera. Cool pictures!!

The meat can spoil fast this time of year. When you don't gut them, the body heat stays and can cause the meat to spoil. One of my friends shot a buck on an October rifle hunt and we didn't recover it until the next morning. When we found it, we thought everything was ok but upon further inspection we could tell that the meat had spoiled. That was in the fall when it at least cools off a little at night. Good luck finding your deer but it might be too late for the meat.

What was the price? I've also been thinking about doing something like that. I have the Nikon Fieldscope T-3 15-45 ED and really like it. I'm just getting tired of trying to hold my camera free hand.

Wednesday I picked up 3 of them at the Tucson store on Wilmont. There were two left. I also grabbed a Moultrie Gamewatcher 4.0 mega pix for $74.00. They had some of those small monitors that you can hook to the the TV out port on sale for $25.00. Anyone know how well those work? I think I may go back and pick one up.
