    LOOKING FOR LAB PUP

my neighbor has chocolate pups and there eyes just opened .
  12. My friend Jerry and his dad bought left over tags for 30b, he had never been in this unit and did not have anytime to go scouting. He bought a map and did some looking on Google earth to find a spot to hunt. He got to his camp site on Thursday and did a little scouting around. On opening morning Jerry and Pops spotted 2 small bucks, Pops was able to connect on one, it was a spike....Good eating!! Jerry kept holding out for something bigger and finally spotted this buck on Sunday evening, too late to go after. Monday morning Jerry was back at the spot that he last saw this buck and was unable to locate it, so he went to sit at a water tank and left his dad to keep looking for the buck. Later that afternoon Jerry's dad called him on the radio and advised him he had located 2 bucks, one being the one he had spotted the day before. Jerry went back to the spot and found that the bucks were bedded down, he set up for the shot, it was about 370 yards. Jerry was able to shot this good buck, unfortunately the drop tine broke off and he was unable to locate it. He did not have a camera with him to take field pictures. Jerry has left the deer with me and I got these pictures to share. I green scored the buck around 95 inch's with out the drop tine. Keep in mind that I am not an official scorer.

16k Super glide 5th wheel hitch

    sold hitch
  16. I sold my trailer and now have the hitch to sell. It is a Super glide 16k hitch, great for short bed trucks. Asking 1,400.00 or obo. OK, I am wanting to just get rid of the hitch without giving it away too much...How about $800.00 It is an excellent hitch, all automatic and perfect for a shortbed. Thanks, Mark

  21. We purchased this weekend tour from the Az Deer Assn Banquet, that Monty Parsons AKA Azsagebrush got donated. We had a wonderful time. We stayed at the Best Western Squire Inn, a very lovely hotel. On Saturday morning we started out with a flight to Page over the Grand Canyon. We got a breakfast at Page airport and then got picked up for a tour to Antelope canyon, that was awsome!! After leaving the Antelope canyon we were bussed down to the base of Glen Canyon Dam for the river tour. We stopped for a small hike to the Petroglyphs, pretty cool. We stopped on a beach to have lunch and continued on to Lees Ferry where a bus took us back to Tusyan with a stop at Cameron Trading Post, and they have some really good fudge there. We got back to the hotel about 6:30 pm and cleaned up for dinner. We went to a local restaurant - We cook pizza and pasta and not only did we get an excellent dinner, but had the pleasure of seeing and dining with good friends Jim (Pops) Mullins and his sidekick Gary. We had such a wonderful time and experience, all the guides we had were very knowledgable and friendly. We recommade that everyone should take this trip/tour at least once, if not more. Thank you again Monty for getting the donation. Mark and Kathi Nixon P.S. We used this as a late honeymoon trip. Us on the river boat at the petroglyphs horseshoe bend from the airplane Antelope Canyon us at the end of Antelope canyon what Mark wished he was doing!! waterfall along the river Glen Canyon Dam from the airplane

Guess the Score - Sept 09

Thanks everone for the nice words about my deer, and thanks Amanda for scoring it. Just to give a little history about the deer . It was killed in unit 8 over 20 years ago . I saw it on a hilltop and was unable to get off a good shot at it due to the bad case of buck fever I got when I saw him standing on that hilltop. I returned to the spot I saw him at later that day and started to follow his trackes he was leaving in the muddy ground. I was unable to see very good because I was in the junipers south of the HAT ranch so I found a nice small pine and climbed up in it as high as I could so as to get a better look around. I was up in the tree for only 5 minutes when I heard something under my tree. When I looked down to see what it was there was the deer I was looking for. I pulled the hammer back on my old marlin and he heard it clickso he raised his head as I pulled the trigger and shot him in the neck at 20 to 25 feet . I was a new resident to AZ and coming from Texas Hill country the whitetail just did not seem that big to me. I was entered in the big buck contest at Ruffs in Flagstaff so I took it to get it checked out because I was not sure if they had a whitetail catogry for big bucks . The person on duty when I showed up to get it weighted said it was the biggest whitetail he had ever seen. It weighed 117lbs field dressed. I just took my deer home and cut the horns off and left them in my storage until some years later I meet a guy and showed them to him and he also said they were the largest set of antlers of a whitetail he had ever held and I should get them scored. I later had that same friend mount them as you see today. So I hope everyone enjoyed this story Mark Nixon and thanks again to Amanda for putting on this fun game.
