Took a good friends son out today and after a not so good morning and high afternoon winds at about 4:30 we heard a gobble across the canyon from us .We had no time to set out decoy so I set dad and son up and I pulled back 15 yards and started calling and within 5 min. we had two toms come in and start circling looking for the hen ,when they got to within 30 yards my friends son put the smack down on a really great bird.Nothing better than helping a friend's son get his first bird. We had about 1" of snow opening day of the youth hunt in 8 this year and we still had 5 gobblers sounding out in the am this year.

That is what I did for the wife's Gould's hunt in NM and I have done it in unit 23 in years past.

Oh and We will have some of his calls at the East Valley Toms chapter Banquet of the NWTF for auction on June 20th at Bass Pro Shop. Come and meet Ammon there and support a great group.

Ammon is a great guy, willing to help!! He does a lot for the NWTF in donations and time. Always help our local people. I have lots of calls from Ammon and love them.

You can also go to one of the turkey youth hunt camps and listen in there is a lot of info at one of these and talk and meet with the people who are mentoring.they all usually have a couple of speakers giving out info on hunting,plus a great way to meet people who enjoy turkey hunting.
