    A great Northern AZ buck

Thank you Members for all the comments on my best rifle Coues deer to date. I am very proud of this buck. My hunt start out slow seeing about 8-12 deer a day with nothing bigger than 85”. A good friend named Gino offer to tag along with me and help me find some bigger bucks. And he found this one. I passed on this buck the first time because on the numbers of deer we were seeing, I was hoping for a B & C Coues Deer. After a total of eight days of hunting and seeing that buck for the second time, I decided to take him. He was the best mature buck we had seen. He is still over a 100” after the loss on his right beam. Also special thanks to Gino for helping me on this hunt & posting the pictures on CW.

    A great Northern AZ buck

I shoot a Weatherby Mark V with factory Weatherby ammo using 165 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip. That works for me. I have shot a 1-5/8" three shot group @ 300yards using this ammo. I also have custom bullet drop compensator turrets for my scope. That was money well spent. Gary

    WTB 12,000 lb winch

Gino, If you want the best, I would go with a Ramsey RE 12,000 lbs winch. Almost all of the flat bed tow trucks use Ramsey winches. It will out last your hunting vehicles and if you go with receiver style mounting system it is easy to transfer to different vehicles. I would check out craigslist, classified ads or e-bay for a winch. That’s my 2 cents. Gary

    looking for a hoyt

I think you will find that Bear Mountain in Mesa will give you the best price on your Hoyt bow. FYI, Hoyt bows have a lifetime guarantee on the limbs. Good luck. Gary

    broadheads

Jeff, Shopping for broadheads is like shopping for fishing lures. Just because they are catchy to the eye does not mean they are the best for the job. I prefer fixed two blade broadheads for hunting big game. I have fortunate to taken Elk, Moose and Bison with a bow and arrow using Magnus and Bear broadheads, also having full penetration on these animals. My Bison and Moose both expired within 5 minutes after my arrow left the bow. Remember every arrow tells a story, if the arrow is not a pass through you may not identify the hit and track the animal prematurely and increase the odds of loosing game. Gary
