Anyone who has driven towards Payson from the valley has driven within 200yrds of this little oasis. I was surprised to see this spring and was wondering if any of you have been to it. Someone took the time to build this in the side of the hill where the spring starts. Then about 10yrds outside it has a little wallow that had deer and pig tracks in it. This is the concrete tank it supplies water to. I bet I have driven by this a thousand times to say the least before finding it last month. Anyone else know where this is? TJ

I don't think I've found that many in my lifetime. Thanks for sharing. TJ

Oh how wrong you are. I'm no way even close to being in that catagory. It's no secret I spend alot of time there but please don't use that expert term associated in the same sentance with me. That's some pretty funny stuff right there. TJ

Well, I got sent a pm by a cwt member who definitely knows where it's at and it's not anyone who replied to this post already. He might not want anyone to know he knows so I won't mention his name. Like I said earlier it's not a big deal just wanted to change the subject away from the draw and have some fun. TJ

What you've told me doesn't make me believe you know where it is. Sorry ! TJ

That sure looks like a great day of trout fishing to me. Nothing like catching browns. Were you using conventional or fly fishing? Doesn't really matter it worked whatever it was. Thanks for sharing. TJ

Them are very nice pictures with some good trophies to be had. Good luck putting a tag on'em. TJ

No tree stands or blinds. I saw a lion close to this spot a couple years ago. I just might put out a camera. Not sure I would want to listen to the traffic all day. TJ

Send me a pm if you don't mind with some details and I'll know you do. TJ

Don't be sorry about the read, are you kidding me? That had me on the edge of my seat to the very end. Wow, what an adventure you and your son got to share together. That memory will forever be etched in your minds. Congratulations and most of all thanks for sharing it with us. Them are some nice deer and I think your son should always wear his shirts that way when hunting. It would make for a good conversation when asked why he wears it like that. He would have to repeat his fist deer hunt with others when they ask about the shirt. TJ

That looks and sounds awesome Tommy. I'll definitely have to give it a try if and when I shoot another. I enjoyed our visit yesterday and that San Carlos bird was beautiful. azslim.........being the bacon lover that I am I definitely will give that a try as well. Thanks for sharing. TJ

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a good excuse to get out of the valley. TJ

Sounds like you're no beginner when it comes to hunting since you've hunted several of the western states and AK. Parts of AZ especially the southern portion is wide open country for the most part and will take some good glass to improve your hunting of the desert ghost. I'm always excited when a newbie from another part of the country joins us and hopefully you will share some pictures and hunts of your own with us. You'll find that a lot of cwt members are quite generous when it comes to sharing information. Welcome to the site. Now, how about a story to go along with that black bear? TJ

Well we had a great day but not so hot according to others. Getting Dad to catch a fish any more is a big deal and he landed a 5lb catfish which I thought was a 10lb bass. We boated 3 other bass around 2lb and a single bluegill. I lost a hog at the boat that had to have gone 5lbs and 2 others. Dad was beat by noon so we headed home. I'm not sure which was more fun, watching dad bring in that catfish or him cussing out every bass boat that buzzed by us at 20yrds with no respect. Every day out with dad is a blessing from above. It's not going to be to long before I'll miss my fishing partner and I'm racking up as many memories as I can. The pictures aren't the best. Dad and his 5lb catfish Enough for a fish fry An eagle that was watching over us. TJ
