ELK HUNTS WITH THE AZ GROUND POUNDERS OUTFITTERS
tjhunt2 replied to AZ Ground Pounders's topic in AZ Ground Pounders Outfitters Blog
I know a young lady who hunted with Az Ground Pounders and was totally happy with the outcome. Can't wait to see some more pictures of this year's hunts. Good luck guys and thanks for being a sponsor here on cwt. TJ -
+1 on the story as well. Congratulations Hunter. Great picture. TJ

Congratulations Patrick. Keep up the good work. TJ

I like seeing the kids getting out there. Kudos dad! That's a great picture. TJ

Happy Birthday old man. Here is wishing you many more and I certainly will tip one in your honor this evening. Glad to see your knee surgeries went well and it won't be long before you'll be on the San Juan River with Annie. Mr. Bounds and I have had some awesome fishing trips and shared many of camp fires. Those who know Ted know they don't come any better. Not only is he a great friend but more like a brother to me. He recently went thru 2 complete knee surgeries at the same time, went back to work in record time, and has been working 12hr days for weeks without a day off due to shortage at work. That my friends is what I call one tough critter. HAPPY BIRTHDAY brother! TJ

I would like to take the time to wish all the youth turkey hunters the best of luck. There is no doubt there is going to be a lot of excitement in a few hours of me typing this. Just couldn't sleep thinking of all the fun that is going to take place today. Thanks to all you adults who have taken the time to get the boys and girls out there in the woods. Thanks to all the volunteers in all the Youth Turkey Camps for their hard work and dedication in making this one of the best experiences ever for the kids. With out the help of all the different organizations and the help of the azgfd these camps wouldn't be available. Please join one or two and show your support Working for a Water Treatment Plant means 24/7 and this year I choose to work Sat and Sun so the other guys could be home with their families this Easter weekend. Believe me when I say I would rather be in the woods volunteering my time but it's just as important that these parents be with their kids to show and teach them the importance of Easter and what it truly means. Can't wait to see all the pictures. TJ

Ok, now that I'v had a couple more cups of coffee I see I could have left the last sentence off my above comment. I take most of what people say with a grain of salt and think I'm pretty easy going but when someone refers to archers flickin sticks my hair stands up on my neck like a junk yard dog protecting his bitch. Sorry about that AZkiller. I just took it the wrong way and got caught up in the moment. from a stick flickin archer, TJ

I confuse easily and this post is no exception confusing me even more. You start out asking why hunters use light gear on elk. You then go into a spill about why you wouldn't shoot an elk with a 22 caliber even through it has the speed and accuracy. I never once ever read on cwt about anyone saying they would hunt elk with a 22. Then you say you wouldn't hesitate to shoot anything with a 375 H&H. Now I'm getting confused and I'm thinking to myself he is comparing oranges to apples. Then all of a sudden a light bulb goes off in my head, that doesn't happen often, as I continue to read on thru your post. As soon as I read there is a reason why you don't see guys flickin sticks at rinos or elephants and you don't want to see a couple dozen "lost elk" post it dawn on me what I think you are trying to say in my opinion. What I take away from this is you think all archery hunters and anyone shooting less than 200gr bullets are the most cause for the "lost elk" post. Since most of the elk hunters either fall under achery hunters or gun hunters using less than200gr bullets you are probably right only because they make up the majority of elk hunters. You certainly have a right to your opinion about the "lost elk" post but don't throw the majority of us hunters under the buss. imho TJ

Thanks for sharing. I might not pass on that one. TJ

Parker Colburn's First Gobbler
tjhunt2 replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
Congratulations Parker on a beatutiful Tom. Them are awesome pictures and I bet Paul is going to be thinking about next year all year long. Thanks for posting Darr and big kudos for getting them boys out in the woods. This is exactly how god intended boys to be raised. Thanks for sharing Darr. TJ -
I just got a card in the mail saying the banquet is May 3rd. Has it been moved back since it was moved to June 28? TJ

Thanks speedygoat for the info. TJ

Is that the one you used on my sheep hunt?? Yes it was Tony. I know it took us a little while to figure it out but once you know how it's a piece of cake. That one was a 9x12 and I bought a 10x14. TJ
-
I just figured I would set it up in the back yard and have the wife start her usual rampage about nothing. If it stands up to her wind then I'm set to go. TJ
-
I barrowed one from a buddy last year and was amazed how easy they are to set up. I just purchased the 10x14 Deluxe from Sportsman. I never found them as cheap as you guys are saying. I could have saved some money on shipping but I thought I was going to use it on the Youth Turkey Camp. Have to work today and tomorrow and have yet to take it out of the box. TJ

Has anyone installed a Dura-Max fuel pump enhancer? They run around $400 but I can't find nowhere on the internet how to install. TJ
-
Thanks Gino. I ran it out of gas once going up Mt Ore. Lenea & Daniel brought me gas and I got it home and took it to a garage when all I needed to do I think was bleed it myself. OUCH! $500 later TJ
-
Thanks Gino. I'll look in to that. My truck did the same last year after I pulled the 260 hill and broke down for several hours at the top next to the ranger station. TJ
-
Thanks for the info. Mine did exactly what you said chico. My truck fired up then died. It would crank over but would not start. After work I bled the air out and had to pump the primer pump several times. Running good now but I expect it to happen again. TJ

That's the way to get it done Wyatt. Patience paid off. Congratulations on a nice gobbler. TJ
