Happy Birthday to my lovely wife. I promise something special. TJ

I like to hang my deer over night if the temperature cools down in the low 40s. During the day I have placed them in an old sleeping bag and then rehung them again the next night. They keep cool in the sleeping bags during the day. You can keep your deer this way for several days if need be. Most of my deer anymore get cut up and put on ice. Doesn't take a big ice chest on these small whitetails. After I get home I like to hang them for a few days in my back yard walk-in and process at my leisure. TJ

While helping a friend on his early archery bull hunt he had his bow blow up on him after the bottom limb hit his leg as he released while sitting in his tree stand. After a couple days of using his backup bow he decided he wanted to have his other bow checked for a damaged limb so I gave my good friends Ilene & Roger a call and they advised me to take it to Bull Basin in Flagstaff. The 5 hr round trip was worth the experience. The service was outstanding to say the least. There were 7 or 8 people in the shop and they didn't make us wait a minute. After they examined his bow and restrung it they worked with my friend to make sure it was shooting like before. A little adjusting on the peep sight and my buddy was good to go. Chris and Maverick were perfect examples of how every sales person should treat their customers. After refusing to charge my buddy a dime he bought $100 worth of merchandice to show his appreciation. If any of you are in the area I highly recommend checking Bull Basin Archery out. Customer service is beyond great and they are a sponsor here on cwt. TJ

Phil, this is a very nice tribute to your grampa. What a life he has lived and still hunting at 92. That is just awesome and congratulations to your grampa! You have been blessed to have had him as a mentor and grampa. Sounds like he has impacted many lives in his time and I see his kindness and ability to help others coming from you as well. Being half the man he is would be an honor and there's no doubt you're on your way my friend. I want to share this with you Phil. Last night my dad stopped by the house and seemed a little down after watching me pack for my deer hunt tomorrow. He does dialysis every other day so leaving town for any length of time isn't much of an option. I showed him this thead of your granpa and he got so excited looking at the pictures I saw 20yrs coming off him right there and then. He ask me to get a 22mag out of the safe and he was going to head for the rim on sun. to shoot some squirrels. I told him I would come home and get him after I shoot my deer and we will go together. He was like a little kid and full of spunk as he carried that gun out to his truck all do to you posting this of your grampa. Your grampa is still touching lives Phil. Thank you for sharing! TJ
