I just purchased a Polaris XP and it had this back seat in it that I will not use. I would have to think it will bolt in to any side x side of any year. If anyone is interested send me a pm. I'm not sure what it came out of but I think a truck. it's in good shape and comfortable with seat belts. Asking $50! Thanks for looking. TJ

How did you get into hunting and the outdoors?
tjhunt2 replied to capoeirajosh's topic in The Campfire
I was raised in a little town along the Ohio River called Brilliant. It only had 1 red light next to the school. Not knowing any better back then I thought everyone was brought up in a hunting and fishing environment. Our family depended on game a lot. Rabbits, squirrels, and ground hogs were prepared many different ways in our household. Grandma and my mother were the best at cooking game. Guns weren't locked up back then and hunter safety and cleaning guns were a part of our upbringing. My grandfather taught me early in life to respect your fellow hunter and the farmers who allowed us to hunt on their property. Most of the farmers sold produce in front of their farm houses and gramps would always buy their produce and spend hours talking to them. He then would give most of it away to his neighbors. My job was always to take care of the game and clean the guns after every trip. Dad would take 2 weeks vacation every year and load my 2 sisters and brother up in a station wagon and head to Canada where we fished for bass, musky, pike, and my favorite pan fish consisting of rock bass, bluegill, and perch. We fished in a 12ft wooden boat and ate fish for breakfast, dinner, and lunch. Camping was always done in a tent and I remember the mosquitos being as big as hummingbirds. I know I'm really blessed to have had that kind of childhood and I thank the good lord everyday for the opportunities I had back then. TJ -

It was a windy day and I almost didn't even put in. Was almost skunked. I caught 1 2lb bass on crank bait and Peg caught 1 yellow bass for the day. Boy was it tough. Did not see any beds. One guy said he saw lots of fish on beds and told us their were 6 bass on beds in this one particular small cove. There were 6 small frys but no beds like he said. He sure didn't know what he was talking about. I'm thinking we need about 2 more good weeks of warm weather. Water was 55deg. TJ

That sure brought back great memories from last year. What a great trip and an awesome hunt with Jay and Darr. Amanda, Cabelas Spring Fever has a short clip of Peggy and your hunt but not sure how to post. It truly was one of the most beautiful ranches I've ever been on. Yes, if you ever get the chance to hunt with Colburn and Scott Outfitters you definitely will not be disappointed. They are fun people to be around and very knowledgeable about whatever they hunt. Thanks for sharing Amanda. TJ

You do not need to go any bigger than the .35hp LEM for what you are wanting to do. Mine has handled everything from sausage to processing an elk with ease. Never a problem and it's easy to carry with you to camp as long as you have electric. TJ

Peg and I will be on Saguaro in the morning. It might be a bit early for bluegills but hoping to pick up a few bass. Good luck everyone. TJ

Let me start by saying how grateful I am that Amanda started this awesome site. If it wasn't for cwt Peg and I wouldn't have had the pleasure of meeting so many awesome new friends. All your thoughts and prayers that has gotten Peg and I thru the recovery of my quad accident, just before Christmas, to the passing of my dad 3 weeks ago, we thank each and everyone of you for all your friendship and support. You can't imagine what it has meant to us during this time. The Women's Javelina Hunt was just the break I needed to set aside, for a little while, the emotional roller coaster I have been on. I personally want to thank Ilene (aka lucky2hunt) and Roger for their hospitality in letting us stay in their toy hauler and for all the rest of you attending this event. Most of you might not have known but all your laughter, story telling, and sharing of your enthusiasm for this camp was just the medicine I needed. Thank you all! Dad was a strong man and his last words to me was" I'm sorry I can't go hunting with you any more son and thanks for all you have done for me. I love you!" I think that was suppose to have been my line. Well, here are a few of our last memories that has been etched in my memory bank. The last picture was of his 85th Birthday Dec. 17th. His last camp fire which was to the left of this picture.
