Doug, archery season opens in most units on Aug 24. Is there a reason the contest starts on Sept 1. I was just wondering why. Thanks! TJ

I'm a little disabled at the time but does anyone have any objections to me using a crowsbow or is this completely not allowed in the contest. I never gave crossbows a thought until I got hurt. PM sent to doug.

And yes, if properly cared for (and prepared), I never met a rabbit that I did not enjoy eating for supper. Yes, but when the 2nd amendment has failed us time after time with murder, maybe its time change it like many amendments have been changed before. By the way I went studied goverment at ASU and the only reason that law was written, was to protect us from the British if we ever needed to again! I think we are safe now. NO MORE GUNS. I grew up rabbit hunting back in Ohio when I was growing up. We raised beagles and it was a tradition of ours to have a hunt among all the boys and men in the family before every Thanksgiving dinner while the girls cooked. Since moving to Arizona I haven't shot very many but they all delicious. You might not think there are many but they come in cycles. When they get over populated in an area they die off with ( I forgot the term) and then remultiply again like rabbits. Fact#1...there are many Fact#2...yes they are small and harmless Fact#3...they taste good I for one don't shoot anything I won't eat. I can understand your feelings quite well. They are cute but so is a deer and elk. TJ

Amanda, I was wondering if you considered putting them on ice and contacting G&F to see if they were interested in having them mounted for future awareness education programs? Maybe they could even use the pictures you have now. That had to be quite emotional to do what you did, I would imagine. Thanks for sharing and what a sad situation. TJ

congrat to all successful tag holders. No sheep but drew a 23 Oct. wt hunt. Now I have an elk and deer hunt in two units I've never hunted before but I'm not crying in my beer. Bring it on!

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes. I got my Birthday present early with a 22s bull elk tag. Success last year was 0% during that hunt. I love a challenge.

Thanks for that information Doug, I am asked all the time about their warranty. I sent my 10x50 back last year after the wind nocked over my tripod and nocked the adjustment off really bad. I didn't think they could be repaired but they repaired and cleaned them at no cost to me and I did not have a receit or have them registered. That means alot in buying their product. TJ

Talk about a nucklehead. At 2 pm I read about the meeting and talk about reading between the lines. I told my wife I was late but I could get there before it was over and ran out the door. I got Sportsman Wharehouse on Greenfield in Mesa out of that message somehow. After SW informed me they knew nothing I then called G&F and the fellow I talked to didn't know anything about such meeting either. Then I called GH and he read it off his computer while I waited in the parking lot and I then thought to myself that I wasn't suppose to get this way until I got old. My wife said when I got home, "It doesn't surprise me." Must be the heat! TJ

Don't worry, let your wife know that I saw him this weekend while scouting 5a with a friend. He has moved into my buddy's property and now has a girlfriend. They really seemed to be having a great time chasing each other around the trees. They won't shoot any squirrels on their place so he should live out a full and happy life. I reviewed your pictures again and he is yours. Please inform your wife that everything is ok. Hey Gino, I forgot to add to the above reply that Nelson is going to be a Daddy. His girlfriend was looking aweful fat.

Younghunter...that's great that you got an elk tag and I know how excited you must be. Your first elk hunt ever and 19 yrs old. What I would give to have both! I probably don't have to tell you how important it is to put in your home work. I've gone though different fazes over the years, trophy or meat, and you will to. I know you would like to shoot a big elk, don't we all, but don't be influenced by what someone else wants you to shoot. When the right bull comes along you will know it. I won't go into it now but I have seen to many young hunters quit huinting because Dad wouldn't let his son or daugther shoot something because it wasn't what Dad wanted. I hope you shoot the biggest elk in the state but if not that will be ok to. Have a safe & enjoyable hunt. Keep a journal of your day's activities. Good luck!
