That brings back a few memories. It did the trick for me. My $.02 is it would do just fine except if you are shooting long distances across a canyon say 350 plus. Placement would have to be right on. I like the 270 choice alot better but then what do I know about long shots. Anything passed 30 yard is long for me.

Christian, that is an awesome buck. Try and get some more pics and keep us informed on your scouting and hunts. Thanks for sharing such a ware find. Good luck hunting! TJ -
Thanks for sharing Ryan. That is some neat country. I shot a small 3x3 on x-mas eve up there a couple years ago. Had to leave my quad for 2 days before going back for it. It was parked on top and I just ran out of energy to climb back up. Everything was still there the day after x-mas.

Good for you Jim. Good luck on your hunt and bring us back some pics. TJ

That is how I've been hunting the past several years and Steven is right. Falling from a chair doesn't hurt nearly as much as falling from a tree, right Game Hauler? TJ

monstercoues....... I respect your point, but I think you are missing a couple of points that make ALL the difference in this case. I do know a little bit about the units you posted above and I assure you that Most of the archery harvests in those units are in habitat areas where there is Very little rifle hunting preasure. Being that Coues deer have a very limited range/territory it would be safe to assume that the archery harvests do very little to the portion of the deer herd that is rifle hunted. Example: If I hunt those units with a bow, I never hunt very close to the places I would rifle hunt.... the diverse terrain makes it very hard to hunt parts of these units successfully with a bow and likewise other places nearly impossible to hunt with a rifle. Furthermore, I do also believe that the data being presented is flawed do to incomplete reporting. The AZGF has also stated that in order to have more hunter opportunity they abolished most of the Dec. whitetail permits in these units and dropped them into a low success Oct. hunt. It theory that has limited the numbers harvested..... and yet rather than using a projected harvest objective, to help promote hunter opportunity, they wish to add these units to the draw so that they can feel like they have issued more permits to more hunters... They are assuming that they can make more of the Diehard archery hunters choose to apply for archery hunts which the Game & Fish has deemed as high demand archery hunts. Thus leaving more rifle tags for Diehard rifle hunters. I don't believe this is about deer numbers at all.... I believe it is about the AZGF's mathematical agenda..... ... If AZGF's possition is about hunter opportunity then they need to be a bit more creative with their proposals. Cns Well put c&s. TJ

That is a really nice deer. You have done well for yourself. It must be in the water. They did all come from the water treatment plant right? GH..........take a good look at these deer and quit shooting my meat bucks.

Game Hauler, please give the lap top back to your wife. It is for her home use and quit stealing air space from your neighbor. We have all enjoyed you from 6:00am-3:30pm but say it isn't true that we will have to share space with you while you are doing 14oz. What are we to do? Now the evenings? This ought to get interesting to say the least. Anyone have any suggestions?

Talked to your girls yesterday and I was just wondering when the scouting was going to begin? Maybe donate your tags to Hunt of a Lifetime.
