    My 2016 Coues!

First off my deepest condolences for your loss. I also lost my grandpa many years ago and he was my mentor in the outdoors and life as well. I read every word of your story and your grandpa was definitely along on your hunt looking from above. Great story and an awesome tribute to grandpa. Congratulations and thanks for sharing. TJ
  2. Congratulations on your success. Sounds like a fun time. Thanks for sharing your hunt with us.

Pics of my Great Grandfathers coues

I remember seeing these awhile back and glad to see you repost them. Great pictures for sure. TJ
  8. I'm a wanta be duck hunter. I thought when I retired I would have time to really get in to it. It didn't happen this year and I'm shooting for a chance next year. Here is a picture of the only goose I ever shot on Apache Lake. I think this was back in the 80's. The lake was way down and these were just off shore. I snuck along the shore line and then ran like he!! at them. I covered 100yrds in nothing flat and was lucky I got this as they took to the air. No way could I pull that off now. I'm the one on the left along with my brother and good friend.

    Recommend a Concealed Carry Class

I obtained my CCW permit a few months back and I did not have to take a CCW permit class. Here are a few facts but you can look it up yourself by going to www.azdps.gov. and follow the CCW permit steps which will answer all your questions. One of the questions is how do I apply for an Arizona CCW permit. You may contact the permit unit via email to obtain an application packet. The packet will include a permit application, two fingerprint cards, a pre-addressed return envelope and instructions. Send the completed, proof of firearms competence, two classifiable fingerprint cards, and the applicable fee to DPS. My az hunter safety class qualified as proof of firearm competence. It cost me $60 paid to DPS and I think the fingerprinting was $35. There are plenty of fingerprinting places here in Az. I went to one on Main Street just west of County Club here in Mesa. I received my CCW around 5 weeks in the mail. There are also questions pertaining to CCW permit renewal and a bunch of miscellaneous questions that should answer all your needs. I hope this clears up a few questions and if I can be of any other help pm me. TJ

    Recommend a Concealed Carry Class

A concealed carry class is a good idea but one doesn't have to attend a class to get a concealed carry permit here in Az. TJ

    antelope bonus points

I use to beat myself up for days trying to figure out the best odds of drawing a tag and then put in for that particular unit. After seeing so many draw with little bonus points I now just put in for the unit I really want to hunt. Much easier on my health. TJ

    Shoot to 100yrd?

I hope the 100yrd archery guys are keeping it on the archery range and not in the field. I keep reading about animals being killed out to these long distances but I would think most animals are wounded and not recovered at this distance. IMHO! TJ

Returning tag for reinstatement of bonus points

If a person gives up his tag within 24hrs does that tag get issued to someone who didn't get drawn for that hunt at the last minute? TJ
