Welcome to our site. Yes, I said our site because I'm proud to be a member and hope everyone passes on that this is not only a discussion forum but the best information site on coues whitetail hunting that anyone will ever find. If you have a spot in Payson then you are driving past a bunch of whitetails every trip up. If you haven't seen a coues yet then just stop by Mt. Ore and do some glassing and you will probably see your first. It might not be a buck and there might be a hundred people but you usually see at least a doe or two. Also try glassing around the Sunflower area for a real good chance of spotting whitetails as well. They aren't the best places to hunt but you will see some coues deer if you glass long enough. Good luck on your first siting. TJ

Thanks for sharing that video with us. How true it is! I once had to pull a gun on a person who was crawling up on me while camped near Lake Mary and I waited till he was within 10ft before I pulled it out of my sleeping bag and pointed it in his face. The only reason I let him get so close is I was shaking so bad I couldn't have shot him any farther away if needed to. I walked him to his car and yes I would have shot him if he would have made a move towards me. The next morning I reported him to the camp host and gave a report. WARNING! Don't sneak up on me and do something stupid just for fun because that night has never left me. TJ -
That for sure has to be an awesome experience trying to keep up with the hounds. I couldn't do it that's for sure. Thanks for sharing the pics and story with us. TJ

Kent, Your willingness to help out and even take along another member you haven't even knwon is quite considerate and shows the character of some of our great members Amanda has on this site. I have been trying to do the same and even though Ive gotten some nasty mail from some members on it I will continue to try and pass our hunting heritage on to the next generation as well. Good luck on your hunts. TJ

Welcome to the site Mr. Johnathon and I hope you get a chance to stock a few coues. I will pm you with a few of my hunting spots around Apache Lake. This is the time of year they forget about what has kept them alive all year and can really be very productive glassing. Good luck. PM being sent. flagpkmule....I must of missed you as a newbie but welcome. I'm sure by now you know how some feel about what they believe is e-scouting. I guess it's the nature of some to want to sound off but that's their right even though it might not be right. my $.02 Good luck on all your hunts. TJ

Ultrahunter, Welcome to the site and don't let a few neg. sounding opinions keep you away from the best whitetail site on the web. Red Rabbit gave alot of good advice and I also agree that you should look at google earth. I never hunted in NM but I hear you have some good country. If you're in alot of pine country I would suggest you look at saddles. It seems to attract them here in AZ. Follow a trail and hopefully you will come to an intersection of several. This is one of my favrite ways to find a spot for a trail cam. If you got some open country then glassing is the way to go. Keep us posted on your hunt and good luck. TJ

When the first thing you do on Christmas is open coueswhitetail.com instead of your presents. TJ -
My kids, Tuffy the cat and Missy the dog, woke me up at 6am. After feeding them both I sat down at my computer to enjoy a cup of coffee and coueswhitetail.com. The wife is still asleep and how could it get any better except if I was sitting out somewhere this morning behind my 15x56s. The day will be spent with family and friends. May you all have a good day and God Bless. Let's not forget what this day is all about. Thank you Lord. TJ
