It just doesn't get any better than that. It's going to take another real special hunt to top that one. Congratulations to all the hunters and thanks for sharing the pictures. TJ

As always Lance, thanks for sharing. I bet you're ready for a break. That's alot of hunts. I'm sure your hunters are very well pleased. TJ -

I don't know exactly how many I have called in over the years but it's been a few. I use the circe cotton tail and it doesn't always work out the way you plan it. I got Jackshoe in position a couple years ago and told him to get ready and I would show him how it works and he turned and said, after they ran away, so that's how you do it huh? I would say over the years it's been 50/50 on which way they go. If I'm over looking a valley or thicket I always blow it before leaving. Even if you chase them out of there you usually can find them again. TJ

Early November hunt success

Congratulations on your buck and your uncle did a great job on your mount. TJ -
Thanks Lance for the update on the youth hunters. I know how proud you must have been of Weston's first deer. Members like yourself is what makes this site such a pleasure to read. The pictures are awesome as always and your contribution towards promoting young hunters an opportunity to succeed is what we need more of from all hunters. Thanks again for sharing and being a positive asset to this site. TJ

Gary, you're right on the money when you say "Can't stress it enough - keep it clean." I'll take javi meat any time over any other but only my own. I would have to watch someone clean one before excepting it from them. I've had it many differrent ways but now only make sausage out of it. Hopefully I get one this year. TJ

Lance, I tried your Rib Roll method this year on my archery elk and it worked great. I explained it to my nephew, in Colorado, and he did it on his moose and thought it was the neatest thing not gutting the animal and will tell his friends up there so you have not only helped me but now have it rolling in Colorado as well. Thanks again Lance. TJ

I have to agree with antlerhead on this one. The opportunity to hunt means way more than the size of the animals in the unit. Of course I would like to shoot a big one but that's not my priority. Since moving here from Ohio, in the 70's, I've only went one year without drawing a deer tag and have had 20 some elk tags which the last 19 years have been archery tags. The odds are the way I go. Good luck on your draw. TJ

Thanks for sharing such an awesome buck. Has anyone scored him yet? That has got to go on the wall for sure. Congratulations to the hunter! TJ

Absolutely amazing what you did with that story. I was sucked in from the beginning and thought you did a great job. Memories in the bank right there with you and your Dad for sure. Congratulations on your buck and thanks for letting us come along on your hunt. At times I felt I was right there with you and really enjoyed your story. You should send it in to Outdoor Life or maybe Frield & Stream. It really was that good. Give your Dad our congrats as well for getting you in there. Can't wait til your next hunt. Keep us posted. TJ
