It was a pleasure to meet you this Sat. and thanks for the pictures of my old hunting grounds. I have taken a lot of game from that area around Apache Lake and you certainly have away with bringing out the beauty of any part of the state you visit. Thanks Doug! TJ

Well, I have never been much of a hockey fan before but I'm on the band wagon now. Amanda was the MVP during the championship game which they won in 2002, if I got it right, and it doesn't surprise me one bit since she is our MVP of the internet. This is just awesome information we got on our leader and how has she kept it a secret for so long? Go Killer! TJ

Sounds like you had a good time out enjoying the spring weather trying to come thru and overtake the snow melt. I'll be at Big Lake the first 10 days of July and hope to catch some left over fish from last year. I know now is the time to be there but that's the best I can do. Good luck on getting Mr. Gobbler and keep us posted how it goes. Thanks for posting. TJ

Just to be clear, the TJ he is talking about is NOT TJHunt2, it's another guy who said his forum name was Hunter Tom or something like that. Don't want to get TJHunt2 in trouble with his wife!! Afterall, his wife might be getting jealous after seeing him in the CW.com dance team video!! Peg, you should take a pic of you in the new CW.com shirt and post it. Or maybe you are going to wear it to one of the banquets? I wish I had a girlfriend who would buy me a new Hoyt bow. jk I had Peg read Chef's post and she thought it was pretty funny. Thanks for clearing that up Amanda or who knows what might have happened if Peg got a hold of this first. Peg likes her new shirt and wants to know if everyone is going to wear theirs to the ada banquet on June 5th? TJ

Stopped by Jeremy's new shop yesterday, coming back thru Payson from Jackshoe's turkey hunt, and visited for about an hour. It was nice meeting some new cwt members, and seeing others I've already known. Jeremy has a very nice shop and I wish you well on your new career Jeremy. I would have liked to have stayed longer but Jackshoe and I had been in the woods for a few days and didn't want to run anyone one out of there if you know what I mean. Doug.... it was nice to have met you finally and hope your ride back down the Apache Trail wasn't to dusty for some good pictures. Christain.... I especially enjoyed talking with your Dad about bird dogs. Be sure and thank your Dad for some helpfull tips on training my new lab. Jimmer...glad to see you again. Amanda.....thanks for the shirts and Peg's fits good and glad to hear your new dog is working out for you and Paul. Elk-a-Holic....hope you had some luck on your turkey hunt GH.....sorry I missed Danny but I just couldn't wait to get back to near 100deg temps. TJ

As I grew up in Ohio my Mother was always there for me. We camped alot and made yearly fishing trips to Canada as I grew up. She made it a point for me to be in church every Sunday and after moving to Arizona she was always in elk camp. There are just to many memories to share on here but those who met her know she was one of a kind. As my Dad and I packed for a deer hunt, in 2000, my Mother passed away as a result of a stroke. Happy Mothers Day Mom and to all your Moms as well. TJ

Just got home from work and showed Peg. Her comment was "I remember when you looked like that." LMAO I think Globe would be a good starting point to taking it on the road Amanda. Maybe I can quit my day job. NOT! TJ

Thoughts and prayers go out to your Grandpa. I'm sure he has given you lots of memories to remember him by when his time on earth ends. God bless your Grandpa and prayers for family and friends as well to carry you through these hard times of losing a loved one. TJ

Sorry, but why would you be foolish to tell what the material the blade was made out of? Just curious! TJ

A big congratulations on your first buck and a dandy one at that. Cody, please do me and yourself a favor and start yourself a journal while you still have it fresh in your mind. I know now you think it will stay in your mind forever but believe me if you live long enough it will fade due to something we can't help. Old age! Keep us all posted on your next hunt and thanks for sharing. TJ

I just can't believe that anyone would do such an act of cruelty. When I hear of things of this sort it just pisses me off to know end. Let's hope they get caught. Hang the bast*#ds! TJ

Every year I get to hunt with my Dad I can't help but to think back when I was just out of diapers and tagging along in the woods hunting rabbits & squirrels back in Ohio. As the years go by it is a pleasure to pay back for all he has taught me. Opening day was to fall on my weekend to work but I wasn't going to let that get in the way. With some vacation scheduled I was on my way with my wife, two dogs, and Dad following me down the Houston Mesa Road towards a camp I have been using for more than 20yrs now. It was Thursday afternoon and the snow was coming down as hard as I have ever seen it but ended as quickly as it started with 27deg. temp. My wife says she isn't getting up no 3:30 in the morning to hunt birds. I had other plans for her but didn't want to ruin her evening. As we roll in to camp Dad saids he isn't getting up in the morning either. The alarm goes off at 3:30 am and now I have my work cut out for me. It is 24deg. A little help with some coffee, they both finally start to get dressed but it isn't going fast enough for me. We still have a few miles to go and then the walk in to our separate hunting spots. I take the quad ride out of the morning by hauling them by trailer to our starting point which they appreciated. By the time I get the bikes loaded we no longer need our flashlights and the birds are on the ground. Dad is having problems getting his muscles to work but he manages to get on the quad and I send him on his way. By the time my wife and I get to our hunting area it is 5:30 and we set up for me to call. I get a response right away from two gobblers. I call again and one seems to like what he hears and starts our way. After 20 minutes he is within 40 yards but we can't see him for the brush. I tell Peg to get ready and don't shoot till we make sure it has a beard. I call one last time and in he comes and I loose it. I get to shaking and I look at Peg , with her gun up, me holding on to her pant leg waiting to give the signal to shoot. We let the bird reach 13yrds and she successfully fills her tag for the second year in a row. After a few pictures and a radio call to Dad we head for camp. Dad strolls in to camp at 8:30 and tells us how he shot his turkey. After many pictures I head out at noon to finally get some hunting in and finish my hunt when two gobblers head my way after I make a series of calls. I take the biggest of the two and we are done by 1:10pm. Peg and Lexie Peg & I with her turkey Dad & I with his bird. Me & Lexie with mine Me, Dad, Peg Lexie Mae thinks she owns this one

I'm mostly a ground blind hunter now but would like to suggest one other thing that hasn't been mentioned. I look for a tree as big as I can. Sooner or later you will have a windy day and you don't need no rodeo. TJ

Congratulations on your first gobbler. It only takes one bb to kill a bird if hit right and it must of been. Watching them birds in action will be some memories for sure and them pictures are dang good coming from your cell phone. Thanks for sharing. TJ

Good luck to each of you and hope you all have a safe trip. Look forward to the stories and pictures on your arrival. TJ

ehunt.......yes that is a yellow lab by the name of Lexie Mae. I'm hoping to get back into duck hunting this next year. She already has the run of the house and sleeps between the wife & I. We're in trouble! Kathi.....it is Jerry. I had him feel in for me on the hunt but don't tell anyone. Thanks everyone for the kind words. TJ

Jim, you sure have a way of telling a story that makes one feel like he's actually there along side ya. That had to be a great feeling for the both of you on that hunt. I especially like the way you took the picture with the sun shining through the back of the tail feathers. I hope I can remember that on my next one. Thanks for sharing and a big congratulations to Pops. TJ
