Good looking pig and the sunset picture is cool. Congratulations. Who makes your sausage for ya?

Congratulations! I don't know when I've seen a more beautiful buck. TJ

Come on TJ you could never say that with a straight face! The only thing worse than not getting a pig is getting a pig! Congrats to the Huntress! you evidently have't tried my javi sausage. TJ

Awesome! That was one heck of a shot. I just love the picture of Bri and the pig. It doesn't get any better than that right there. I don't care what anybody says about the meat it's the best you can eat if prepared properly. Congratulations! TJ

Thanks for sharing. I've yet to catch a lion on trail cam. Congrats! TJ

These our Peg and I's kids. There isn't a day goes bye that Lexie doesn't chew on an antler. This is our other dog Missy right after we brought her home from a holloween party. This is her years later. I'm so glad Pine Donkey started this post because it has become one of my favorites and thanks for crediting me for you getting this post started. You deserve all the credit for one of the best post on this site. I hope all our members post pics of their dogs so keep them coming. TJ

No matter where the picture was taken I can tell you this is an awesome deer. If someone harvested this deer then they are one lucky guy. If not then don't tell a soul and go shoot it and then post the pics and breg all you want but keep us informed. TJ

I did some quail hunting in the Queen Valley area on Tuesday and found quite a bit of javi sign but it's a ittle to late for ya since the season ended on the 20th. Good luck next year. TJ

Whale, no I haven't been thru your situation but I will tell you if she doesn't think she should go then don't push the envelope. I started my wife out hunting with me some 34 years ago and pushed her to the limit and didn't take the time or patience to go at her pace and had her quit hunting because of it. It wasn't until many years later that I got her into hunting again and now I make sure she has it as easy as I can make it for her. Just my $.o2. It makes for a better camp and them wifes will love you for it. Pay backs are awesome! TJ

Yes you are right but it didn't just apply to muleys and down soth whitetail tags. One year I shot two coues a week apart off Mt. Ore. and another year bought an over the counter and took my second coues down off the Arivaca Road in unit 36A. If any left over tags where not taken within a certain time frame you could purchace another tag even if you already shot a deer. TJ

Welcome to this site and thanks for posting pictures right out of the gate. Thais what we like to see with a newbie and now where's the Dec. pic?

Sounds like you got what it takes to get the job done on them muleys. Good writeup and enteresting how you managed to get closer by using your bow above your head. I've seen it done on tv hunting moose but that is a first I've heard anyone actually trying it on deer. Thanks for the tip and congratulations on the last 3yrs. Beautiful buck by the way. TJ

Afternoon quail spot
tjhunt2 replied to mbiewer's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
mbiewer, welcome to cwt.com site. You will find this site to be very helpful. What type of quail have you been hunting and what region of our state? Coming home with 3 quail isn't a bad day afield. I came home with 1 the other day and was happy to get that. Glad to see your girlfriend wants to get out and give it a try. This is a great time to be in the field with our awesome weather. Once again welcome and good hunting. TJ -
Thanks for sharing Jim. I just might have to go wack a few coyotes after seeing them pics. Great job on your web site as usual. You guys do a great job of making your clients successful and happy. TJ

Tines, since your wife doesn't archery hunt you have made a good choice for her ham hunt. This way she won't have to get as close and hopefully will have more time to get settled in to the shot with your help. She'll be shaking like a leaf and you will to I bet. A shooting stick of some kind will be very helpfull for a steady rest. I started my wife out hunting when we first married and I made the mistake of not going at her pace instead of mine and she quit for quite a few years and it made it hard for me to get her back into the game again. I should have been way more patient with her instead of pushing her. If you want a hunting partner for life then maybe you can learn from my mistake. Please don't yell at your wife and call her names when things don't go the way you want them to. lol Yea I did all that stupid stuff. TJ

Glad to see you home safely. Great writeup and the woods in the pictures look really thick. Sounds like you had an awesome time. Let us know how the pork turns out. TJ

Thoughts and prayers for you and your family. TJ

After purchasing my duck stamps on friday I was biting at the bit to take out Lexie on her first duck hunt when Peg decided we needed to go fishing. So yesterday I loaded up the gang. Peg, Lexie, Missie, and myself were on the lake by noon and the fishing was slower than slow. I constantly was checking out the back of coves with my binos for ducks. Peg and I was enjoying the day even though we hadn't boated a fish when she yells out I got one. After netting her bass she says "you owe me 2 bucks. One for the first and one for the biggest". Never fails! We were about to call it a day when two mallards flew and landed along the shore ahead of us. Now I was getting excited since I hadn't shot a duck in over 20yrs. I just wanted Lexie to have the opportunity to retrieve a duck. I had Peg drop me off 200yrds down the shore and I hiked up over the hillside and thru the wait-a-minute bushes until I was inline with the birds. They must have heard me and started out in the lake and I wasn't near as I wanted to be but it was now or never. Probably 50yrds but I was shooting down at them so I let the steel shot fly. I hit the female first and then swing on the male as he starts up in the air and miss. I shoot again and down he falls. After fighting my way thru the mesquite and landing in the water over my shoes I motion Peg to bring the boat over. I get Lexie out and show her the birds and she is in the water and swimming out to the first mallard with me as proud of her as can be when that emotion went from proud to what the hick. She smelt the bird and swam back without it. She made another swim to the other and did the same. I guess she figured they didn't smell like doves and were to big for anything she has been trained on. Of course I was disappointed but I had expected way to much from Lexie and I know I have alot more training to do. What a way to finish the day off and was back home in time to enjoy a beer and some football. Lexie before we lift for the lake. She brings these in the house everyday. My pile is going down quick. Got this eagle just before it flew off. Lexie's not sure what to think of these mallards Lexie and I. I will use these for training. Peg and her 3lb bass that cost me $2
