Sounds like your time in the field with Gabe was very rewarding. Thanks for sharing that with us. Bill has a good point there and for me it's not just knowing the difference between right and wrong but how you conduct yourself in the field and in your daily life that shapes you as one with good ethics. If this gets the kids ramped up then that just makes my day. This is the time of year I get excited about fishing for crappie. I'm not that good of a fisherman to catch them any other time of the year. Have fun on the water and share some pictures of the kids with their fish. TJ

This definitely was one of the most rewarding events Peg and I have attended. Amanada did a great job organizing this Women's Hunt. The support from Buenis Aires Wildlife Refuge, azgf, all the mentors, family and friends, Youth Outdoors Unlimited, the huntress's who were super, and our very own Coueswhitetail was nothing less than first class. Bill (Azslim) is an interesting, bigger than life, person to talk with on his sausage making and I hope each of you get the opportunity to meet and talk with him someday. I had the pleasure of meeting Graig McMullin a few years ago on my elk hunt and was glad to see him again. He is an excellent speaker, a true asset to azgfd, and we were honored to hear him speak. All the cooks from YOU did an oustanding job and the food was top notch and Mark, one of the cooks, gave a great talk on safety and keeping it fun. Ilene and Roger brought firewood all the way from flagstaff and was most appreciated on those 24deg mornings. I missed the opportunity to visit with Pine Donkey, after he drove in on Sunday to meet me, but was on a blood trail at that particular time. Sorry! I did get to meet his lovely wife and daughter, Laurie & Chrstie, and enjoyed their company. I can't thank Amanda enough for teaming me up with Deb, Michele, Carrol, Shannon, and Kristin. Deb and Michele mentored with me and both showed experience and had what it took to do a great job. Carrol, Shannon, and Kristin showed exceptional safety skills and I couldn't have been more pleased to have helped mentored these girls with Deb and Michele's help. It was an honor to have met so many nice people who really care for the sport of hunting and helping others. I could go on and on with names but with due respect it was my pleasure to have met each and everyone of you. I will post later with the story of our three day hunt and stock on the pigs that ended with 6 pigs single file passing by at 10yrds with Shannon's handgun cocked and ready to drop the hammer. There definitely were some funny story making events that will be told around the campfire for years to come. lol Congratulations to all the successful huntress's who harvested a pig. TJ

I can't help you with your question only because I haven't done any hunting down that way. I can welcome you to the site and I'm sure you have come to the right site for help. That's an awesome buck you shot pictured in your profile. Is it from a southern unit? TJ

So sorry to hear the passing of Mike. I only knew him as Treestandman. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mike's family and friends. You will be missed here Mike but not forgotten. TJ

Wow,I really like that option. It's much better on my eyes as well. Now it looks like everybody can have their own choice of back grounds which should please most everyone. Great idea! Thanks for the heads up on the IBP Basic. TJ

I will be leaving Mesa heading for Three Points, Az thursday morning on my way to help Amanda with her hunting camp. I will be pulling a 5th wheel. Map quest tells me to take the Marana Exit and travel south on Sandario Rd to the Ajo Hwy 89 then right to Tree Points. My question to you all is: Would I be better off to stay on the instate 10 until I get to the Ajo Hwy 89 exit, in Tucson, instead? My next question is how would the traffic be at that time in the morning on the interstate 10 in Tucson? Information appreciated!

Well, almost all. Get the popcorn ready caus it's going to be another great topic. TJ

That is one he!! of a job. You show pride in yourself and your tribe. I like the idea of what you have done with the traditional equipment. You have to be proud of what you have accomplished. Maybe our paths will meet someday and I can personally congratulate you on your success of your pig. What's next? Congratulations. TJ

Looks like you pulled another good year off Gino. Congratulations to everyone on their success. Great stories and pictures as always. Good luck with the lion. Gino, what's your opinion on the turkey survival this year with all the snow? Do you think there will be a huge kill off or just the norm? Thanks for sharing all the success. TJ -
Looks like a good dayn to me. TJ

It is a must read book for sure. I started reading it all over again and I'm enjoying it as much as the first time around. Peg and I had the pleasure of joining Bill for lunch, in Greer last year, while we were camping at Big Lake. We then got to hear more stories and got to see many pictures in books that he has written or co-written. It was the highlite of our annual trip to the area. It makes the book even more enjoyable the second time around by knowing Bill. I recommend "Sixty Years A Hunter" to anyone who loves to hunt and especially if you're going to make a trip to Africa. Thanks for sharing your experience and it certainly sounded like a great hunt down there. I don't think I will ever make south of the border but I sure enjoy reading stories like your own and dream what it might be like. TJ
