God bless the young lady for bringing your son into this world. Not knowing exactly the situation but it sounds like you and Shahla have been blessed with a son through one of God's miracles. I just love the name Eli Cooper. It has a special sound like maybe the next great hunter. Thanks for introducing Eli Cooper and congratulations to your wife and you. I just love these young cwt members. TJ

Great story and congratulations on your beautiful bird. You shouldn't be hunting alone so I'll just have to tag along next year to keep you company. lol I'm heading out in the morning to retrieve a couple tree stands that have been snowed in, over the winter, if they are still there and do a little turkey scouting the next couple of days. You got me all excited now and can't wait to hear some gobblers. Thanks for sharing your hunt with us. It made me feel like I was sitting there watching it all unfold. TJ

Tony.....the brain is already scrambled but I do manage to read between the lines and figure out bits and pieces. Amanda......I never ever thought I could get any smarter than I already is but cwt has elevated me higher than I ever thought possible. Non-Typical Solutions.......Ag classes? Just when I thought I had it all together . TJ

I can't imagine what it would be I need. I've got so much that I don't use now and my wish list is always got something new that I really don't need. I guess it would be a few more trail cameras if I had to answer the question. Oh yea, I would like to have a new side x side in any make or model.

There is not one better than the next. It all depends on who is using it. I made one out of pvc and called in many but I will say the newer ones on the markert are much more forgiving and do a great job. You just got to try them out and figure it out for yourself. Most newer ones due a great job and work. TJ

If you K Brothers hunt like you fish then them turkeys haven't a chance. Thank God you boys can only take one a piece. TJ

Nothing like getting the family involved. Great pictures and thanks for sharing. Nice find by your boy. TJ

The term "ungulate" has nothing to do with the digestive system but merely indicates the presence of hooves. Thus all of the African antelope, pigs and horses are included. Perhaps you're thinking of the term "ruminant," which describes the critters with a 4-section tummy. All ungulates have hooves but all ungulates are not ruminants. TJ

I'll be in the middle of a turkey hunt or I would. TJ

308nut.....that is great advise. I've been preaching that for many of years now. Not just for jevelina, which is very credical, but with every animal and bird. Take the time to treat all your game meat the same and you will have the best. I will agree a very young animal is alot tender as with most game birds but it's really hard to tell the difference when properly field dressed and prepared right. Those who normally complain about how tough and strong tasting a particular piece of meat is, not always, usually was caused during the skinning and cooling down proccess. Know before hand exactly what you are going to do with that downed animal and you will be treated to some darn good eating. TJ

Check out Amanda's store here on the site. She sales a bino chest pack from Alaska Creations that I actually bought for my 15's. Best protection & investment I've made for them. A must have for in the field or riding a quad. TJ

Bill, your right. It's hard to pick from so many hunts of a lifetime. The younger guys don't have the problem we have yet. I could not possibly pick one that stands out among the rest. They all were great hunts for me. Maybe my Dad's last deer kill at age 80 since it might be his last. Here is a picture of his deer. I shot a lion from the same blind the very next day. 80 yrs old.

WOW! I have never shot a bobcat ever. I've seen a few out hunting but never got the chance to close the deal. You definitely know your stuff. Thanks for sharing. TJ

Great looking dogs. Where were these pictures taken from? Thanks for sharing. TJ

Amanda, I'm happy for Paul's new employment in southern Colorado. Our congratulations landing the "Head of Operations" at the new opening of the Arboretum of the Southwest. He will be good at his new position. I hear you both will be moving by the 1st of June for the grand opening in July. I'm sure your furnished house, that goes along with his position of Head of Operations, will be very nice. Not sure I would want to live where I work but I know how much he worked to land this. It's a sad day for us in the coues country to loose you and please say cwt.com won't go away. I wish you both the best and I hope the rumor you changing the web site to a more nature like atmosphere is not true. TJ

You K brothers know how to get it done. Yes, I was at the salt end the whole time and finally figured out why there are no fish there. You brothers have caught them all out of that end of the lake. My wife just asked if you would tie some up for us? Great picture of Tyler's fish and thanks for sharing with us. Good luck on your turkey hunt. Keep us posted when your next video comes out. TJ

Pheasant Hunt
tjhunt2 replied to hunterlee's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
hunterlee, how did your pheasant hunt go on Sunday/ I hope I didn't miss your post somewhere. Jackshoe and I took our dogs out before work today and got some good training in. Ted's dogs are awesome pointers and I couldn't be more pleased with Lexie's progress. Here is a picture of our morning session. TJ -
Thanks for sharing Lance. You do a first class operation. Good luck with your 2011 hunts and please keep us posted on all the success. TJ

I fished from the 26th thru the 28th and found the fishing slower than slow. I consider myself an ok fisherman but evidently I'm not as good as the ones catching 20 & 30 a day. 4 smallies and 2 large mouths on Sat., 2 6" bass on Sun., and 2 12" on Monday. No crappies and everyone I talked to said the same as me and I talked to alot of fishermen. Sounds like I need to hire them Koury boy's for a day. Are they guiding yet? Love their video. TJ

Totally agree Mr. Quimby!! I waited almost 10 years before I drew my one and only archery bull elk tag in 2009. Here's the end result: A lot of guys gave me crap for "wasting" my tag on a spike. I couldn't care less what guys said. I hunted hard for a week and took the first bull that I had the opportunity to shoot. Plus, I got to spend a full week in elk camp with my dad. It was just him and me for the whole hunt and I couldn't have asked for a better hunting partner!!! That's a great picture and the memories will be forever etched in your mind. Congratulations and thanks for sharing. It's stories like this that I enjoy the most. TJ
