what type of scent control do you guys use
tjhunt2 replied to oz31p's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
All the scent loc stuff is bull shi$$ and the spray is just as worthless in my opinion. They are making alot of money off of you guys that believe in it and good for them cause they are smarter than you guys that use the worthless junk. The charcoal clothing and boots are a joke. I don't believe in any of that stuff. Most of my kills are under 15yrd and it's not because of any of that crap. That utra violet crap that makes your cloths disappear can't convince me one bit. You ever had a deer tell you they see the difference? Heck no! Take a bath and keep your hunting cloths in a bag with whatever vegetation you're hunting in like pine needles, oak leafs, or just plain dirt. Wear camo that matches your area and wear dark clothing in a ground blind. I do wash my cloths in baking soda. Step in every deer or elk poop on your way to the stand and rub some in your cloths. Most of the heat will pass thru your head when you get hot so smear some poop in your hair as well. I just love the pretty boys who show up in my camp with everything in place and say they can't get close to any game. Go figure! If you are using a blind with alfalfa or corn then I suggest you place a flake up against your inside window and open a bag of corn in your blind as well. I had an elk try to get in my blind with me sitting in it a couple years ago and I had the window completely open. Most of my shots are under 15yrds as I stated earlier. The biggest thing is the wind. If it's in your favor with everthing else I mentioned then you got the hunting Gods on your side. IMO TJ -
What a beautiful buck. Congratulations to you guys. TJ

sorry TJ Sorry....You took it wrong. What I was implying that I dont think this site is boastful or the people on it are either. They are merely sharing a common interest and sharing experiances. I guess my wording was off. I was thinking of bragging in a different manner I guess. I didn't take it wrong. I was just being silly. I knew what you meant. My bad! TJ Ok chalk that one up to miss communication I suppose . Anyways, the stuff on here is enjoyable and informative. Look at the gun websites and all the posts with pics of guys tricked out AR's and such. I like seeing it as it gives ideas and shows products and things I might otherwise never know about. People who dont like "our" kind and the things we do, wont like us either way so I dont worry about it, bragging or not. This is the best coues site out there and we do have alot of fun. That's what makes this the best site out there. Keep posting up beardownAz. Not only can we be serious about our passion but we can have fun at the same time. Thanks for posting my friend. Entertaining is what it's all about. Don't ever take anything serious unless it comes from Lark aka(270). TJ

I've shot my share of coues and a few had what I call heavy bodies. The most to date after boning out was 37lbs. I have a walk-in freezer and weigh all my meat so I know what mine where. You will hear lots of stories but I've yet to see one make 40lbs coming thru my walkin boned out. TJ

Bee away from the computer for a few hours and was glad to get back and see what went down. Yea, way to get the job done. Congratulations on a very nice buck. TJ

Stick with it Shelvin. 10 to 2 best bet. At least in my area. Good luck. TJ

Just because someone post their accomplishments doesn't mean their braggin. This is a site to share all your stories and pictures and if that is braggin then let it be. If that's braggin then I like those who brag as long as I get to see a picture or two and read how they succeeded in doing so. TJ ps.....drew 24 straight elk tags. NOW THAT'S BRAGGIN!

Well, that explains some of those monster coues sheds that have been posted here a while back. TJ
